Genius Dicer Presentation

Chef Tony should cut his nails. It takes away from the presentation. If you're presenting food or items related with food, nails should be clean and trimmed. The first thing I learned in Home Economics is to have clean hands and nails. I realize it has nothing to do with the sale of the item, but it's just looks icky.

I so agree....I was shocked at the length of his nails. I would imagine it would be hard for a chef to cook with such long nails!

Seriously? It would never occur to me to even think about this! I didn't see the show so I went back and watched an item video. No, his nails do not need to be cut. They are not too long to interfere with any food presentations. This was not the first thing that I learned in Home Economics, but I have learned that the older women get the more critical and fussy they get. I see this daily on these forums. (And I do have and B.S. Ed. in Home Economics and taught it for many years.) One of my favorite books is Don't Sweat the Small Stuff and It's all Small Stuff. It a great read...

I know one thing, if I ever saw a chef with nails like that, I certainly would not be eating any meal he prepared.

Seriously? Yes, I am serious. And you're referring to who beind old, critical and fussy? Expecting someone who is preparing and touching food to have clean nails has nothing to do with one's age.

If you find my topic "small stuff," don't sweat it.

Long nails on men disgust me and I'm not old and fussy. I have not liked long nails on men ever. So it has nothing to do with age.

The video with the product online is with Carolyn Gracie...is that who Tony presented with last night? Because that video shows very neat, clean nails. They are not super long but not super nubbed either. I have zero problem with nails in that video. Where they long and dirtier last night'so show?

When I read this thread yesterday then watched the video I did not know what I could say that would make a difference to people who see what I looked hard and long at and did not see -- so there's no point in trying. I did watch other videos of his presentations and again, no long nails, no dirty nails.

It bothers me to see someone maligned like this. He's such a nice guy. He looked fine, imo, in fact, perfect. Maybe those who saw something dirty saw a presentation that wasn't put up online? There's no other explanation that makes any sense.

ETA: I saw the comment that it was a different presentation than is online. There's no reason for anyone to go on stage without having their nails checked. Wonder what happened this time . . . it certainly is not his habit.

@Free2be It's just my opinion. This subject has come up in the past. I'm voicing my opinion about the presentation. Not maligning anyone. Just stating the simple facts. Don't expect that everyone will have the same opinion, but i don't expect to be called old, fussy, and critical.

@makena I saw a presentation by Chef Tony and the nail on his little finger was "noticeable"--I do not go looking for long fingernails on a man so when it is obvious, it is obvious! Don't know when it aired (last couple days), but it was a live presentation, not a video. Not sure if it was the dicer or the mandoline.....
