I actually broke down and ordered one tonight. I'm a huge meat eater and I think I'll like this option for cooking meats. The price is great.

I thought about it but my DH said we could just buy a smoker box for our BBQ so I will give that a try.I hope you love your new toy and let us know all about it after you have used it.

I've got the big one . Great product. put it up on blocks to make it higher to reach in and out. The small one probably wouldn't be big wide enough for like turkeys or big slabs of ribs. My only concern.

Be great for folks who just want to do hamburgers , chickens

We have the larger one and it does a great job. My only concern with the small one is the size of the drip pan which only seems to cover about half of one side. That means everything on the other side is going to be dripping all over the inside of the smoker as it cooks. That will be a messy cleanup.

I've been considering one of these for years. The ones I saw were always too big for us. I was really tempted to order this one. My only heistation was would the meat/smoke scent linger in the cooker. We have woods all around us and a lot of wildlife. I do have a fenced in patio where we grill but we still will have a critter "situation" once in awhile. I was going to put the cover over it as well. but wondered if the walls of the smoker hold the scent more than a grill. I think I'll probably regret not ordering this when I'm roasting turkey instead of smoking it. I didn't see any comments on it before it hit the air so I'm curious what people will say once they get their's home.

We also have a larger one. I like it since as I have gotten older my stomach does not like too much smoke. You can control that with how much chips you use.

A lot of BBQ places don't have the right air circulation & too much creosote buildup that you can taste it in their BBQ. I hate it when it has that taste.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am that I have moved from a house to a condo and only have a balcony as I would have been all over that smoker. I wouldn't want to try and have a smoker on my balcony so as not to bother my neighbors (and to be honest I missed a great deal on one this size at Aldi's a few years ago) but man I would love to own one of those . . .

@SharkE the Bricks is a great idea. They said it can cook a Turkey up to 14lbs. That is big enough for our Family. I went ahead and purchased one. I like you can Travel with it as well.

I use those big, red paver 2 in high blocks under each leg, so, when I hose off the patio I don't get legs wet that would probably rust.

Sure your husband can figure it out better then what I did. LOL

We have the 4 rack Masterbuilt, and we love it! We store ours in the garage. Ours doesn't have wheels, but we put it on one of those little 4 wheeled dollies and wheel it outside whenever we use it. Yes, the smell lingers for quite a while, but it cools so quickly that we can get it back in the garage before dark, so no critters. I watched the full presentation of the small smoker and have just a few problems with it. First and foremost, the wood chips have to be added by opening the door. That means you lose heat and smoke when you add chips (about every hour). Secondly, the drip tray seems small, but the tray in the big one is kind of small too, so I would have to see it in person. Third, I would much prefer a digital, programmable temp control - like the one with the bigger smoker. If you can go with the bigger one, I think that would be better. BUT, if you don't know if you are going to like smoking, this is an ok way to start exploring. We bought each of our children a big smoker because they were so excited about them. They can't, don't, won't use them. What a waste!

Oh goodness @PA Mom-mom if someone gifted me with whatever size smoker even though it's just me I would so love it even just to pop a couple of burgers or a small chicken in there . . . maybe they'll realize how terrific these smokers are and will embrace the concept one day!

@EatWell Neither Traeger model is portable. DH & I love the small portable Masterbuilt. It's only the 2 of us, and the small portable option is convenient. We bring it outside when we use it, then back in the basement with it's convenient cover which has handles for carrying (bought on Amazon) til we use it again. We use the smoker once every 3-4 weeks

I purchased this as a TSV. I haven't opened it yet. My Sister also bought one. Missing is a chart with cooking times and temperatures on how to cook items. Can anyone help? someone in Q&A suggested youtube? Can anyone help?
