Southern Ladies - New Crop Pecans 2017?

Can anyone give me an idea of when New Crop 2017 pecans will be available from growers in GA and TX?

Trying to plan out my pantry purchases for fall/winter baking. Online & forum searches didn't provide any dates.

I'm in the deep south of Georgia, so our pecans start falling around October. We just go outside and pick them up. People down here sell them for Christmas money. I'm thinking that you are looking for store bought pecans, so I'd say mid to late October at the earliest depending on your region.

We start shaking the trees by mid October for what has not fallen. Those picked up off the ground are done by mid October. They should be in the stores by early November.

Here in Northern MI, I wont be harvesting yummy pecans.

I'm want to buy fresh online and skip the awful sawdust tasting ones they sell at the grocery!

Mason's Pecans in Oklahoma sells great Oklahoma pecans. They have a lot of varities and even native ones! They are tiny but SOOOO good! I'm sure they will be able to tell you when to expect the new crop.

The pecans start to fall off the trees with the first cold snap.

Not a frost, but a cold snap.

Could be as early as September but more likely the earliest will be mid-October.
