Hot Dogs!! Do you llike them...

....and if so what do you like on them?

I know they are not the healthiest food we can eat. We only eat them when we make our monthly Costco run! Their hot dogs are the best!! I like mine with mustard and relish and dh likes his with everything they offer!!

I haven't had one in years, but lately I have been craving one. We have a diner type place in my area that serves a hot dog with meat sauce that is to die for. If I was going to have one it would be that. 🌭🌭

Costcos are the best. I only have one about twice a year though, too much sodium. Love them with mustard, relish and tiny bit of onion.

All beef grilled dog on a New England role topped with cream cheese and my father's tomato apple relish. I just finished his last jar...I grew up working in the garden with him. We would pick the needed ingredients and take them into Mom. She, Dad, my sister and I made it every year. Great taste that left with beautiful memories. I am looking thru some of Moms old receipt books trying to find the receipt. Before she passed she gave me her numerous handwritten binders with all the families favorites. If found I will try to make it this year. My son's remember helping make and are hoping I can do it.

I love hot dogs 🌭.Only eat them on occasion during the summer. Usually have the all beef kosher ones because they're healthier & taste better.Love my hot dogs with mustard & sauerkraut!! And of course an icey cold beer 🍺!!

We like the all beef ones and we lived on them when we were young and carefree! Now we have them once in a while, usually on holidays when DH cooks them outside.

How I like mine: Dijon mustard, chopped raw onions, and sometimes a teeny bit of ketchup. I like my bun toasted if possible.

How DH likes his: mustard, ketchup, relish, and onions - and lots of them! He says the best hot dogs are always at ballparks!

On the rare occasion that I have a hot dog, I have to boil it for about 5 minutes to get all the crud out of it. There's a nasty white film in the pan when the water cools.

We only have them maybe 3 times during the summer. They have to be Hebrew National and I like mine with onions, sweet relish and mustard, hubs has ketchup instead of mustard. Yum, I can taste them now, so good. And they have to be grilled, not boiled.

About twice a year Tofu Pups or Smart Dogs by Light Life.......with all the fixins. And if really decadent served with vegan chili and cheese with chopped onions on top. Pure self indulgent junk food. If you must have dogs, this is the way to go. Or be creative and make carrot dogs.

We like the ones with the casings that are made right in our area with no nitrates done over a campfire. We like bacon and cheese on ours. More healthy with no nitrates but then the bacon and cheese - well just great tasting!!

I could live on Hot Dogs! Not all brands though.

Ever try one with lettuce and tomatoe?

We ate lunch at a diner that served them on round buns with lettuce & tomato in high school. Yum!

I make a Costco run a couple of times a month and sometimes I do treat myself to a hotdog with ketchup (used to get a Polish with a little sauerkraut once in awhile but they took them away and switched to brats, which are OK, but I prefer the Polish). Costco hotdogs are great and even though they sell them in vacuum packs, I never buy them for home. I buy Hebrew Nationals for that now and then. At Costco, I'm ketchup only. At home, I can enjoy a hotdog a few different ways. I like a grilled bun (the kind you grill on the outside), ketchup and a Claussen's Kosher dill spear. Other times, with a regular or poppyseed bun, I'll load it up with the hotdog, ketchup, Kosher dill spear, sliced tomato, chopped onion, and a sprinkle of celery salt - my modified version of a Chicago style hotdog even though it's considered sacriledge to use ketchup on a Chicago dog. There have been times when I've used a flour tortilla instead of a bun, sprinkling a little shredded cheese on the tortilla, laying the hotdog down, rolling it up, and zapping it in the microwave - ketchup and Kosher dill spear on the side.
