I got these yesterday from AZN dot Com as one of their lightning deals. I'm hoping they work for bagged lettuce since I buy the 1 lb. Pkg at BJ's. For my reference I dated the container to see just how long it'll stay fresh.

P.S. that was a great price for the 3 containers.

My family tried Green Bags but not dependable. Now we are using Lock N Lock from the Q. We keep sliced veggies in them to use for salads, tacos and quick snacks. The girls have families but I am a widow. To date they have saved me money over previous products. We do keep moisture out of the containers by drying with paper towels where possible.

I swear by glass Mason jars with the 2-part lid/ring screw-on lids.

I can throw a cut avocado in a little 1/2 pint....lasts 2-3 days without browning.

That's a true test of freshness!

I always have a container of leafy greens in the frig.

If I have social engagements during the week,

which prohibits the eating of those greens, I'll stuff those greens

in several 1qt Mason jar containers...and they will last almost a week

w/out getting slimy (!). Again...the power of the Mason Jar!

1. Always remove veggies from the bags. Gas builds up inside the bag and makes them spoil faster.

2. Celery: I scrub and cut the ends off, wrap in a damp paper towel, and wrap in foil. It stays crisp for weeks. Also, if it gets limp, put it in a glass of icewater. In a few hours it will be crisp again.

3. Store herbs like cilantro and parsley in a jar of water inside the fridge like a bouquet.

4. Rinse berries in vinegar/water and store in paper towels. The vinegar kills mold spores so they won't go to mold quickly.

5. Greens/salads: Get a salad spinner. It removes the moisture and keeps your salad fresh.
