Just wanted to share that the Phillips Pasta Maker is on sale for $199 at a warehouse store that starts with a C. 8 discs are included. This is an online purchase. I have been wanting one for a long time, but this one is usually listed for between $299 and $399 with 3 discs. Can't wait to get it.

I have one and have had a couple successful and wonderfully delicious batches and a few disasters from adding too much liquid or too little. It comes with two booklets, neither are very clear about how much liquid to add -- and the measuring container is not easy to read -- or I'm just stupid. I'm now hesitatnt to try again.

I should go to youtube and watch more demos.

ETA: I didn't mean to discourage anyone from buying one. I reviewed the videos and think I know what I did wrong. I'll make some tonight and hope to report back a positive outcoe. I think I did not depend on the machine to be smarter than I. Let it weigh the flour and add liquid according to what it says to add, not sure I wasn't adding liquid according to something in writing. I onlh remember the frustration. LOL

It isn't often a Philips product comes down in price. Good to take advantage when you can.

Thanks for the feedback. Excited to get mine. I've got a bunch of basil in the garden just begging to made into pesto to go with the fresh pasta!

I tried the pasta maker again. After a minor glitch we had wonderfully delicious spaghetti. I must have bumped the machine when adding flour or when it was weighing because the amount of liquid it said to add made no sense then the indicator message was I had not added enough flour. So I added more and could see it still wasn't weighing correctly. I was a little frustrated but decided best to take out all of the flour and start over.

What I learned is be ever so careful to not bump it before it's done weighing the flour -- don't breathe on it. LOL

I'm also going to make myself a short bullet list of steps rather than reference the booklet.
