@homedecor1 I am seriously thinking of ordering this, I used to make homemade ice cream all of the time and once you have had it homemade it is hard to go back to store bought!

I like the fact that you do not have to place a piece in the freezer, we have limited freezer space (side by side refrigerator). I want to see it demonstrated before I take the plunge though!

I see the purple one in our future?

It's a pass for me. In my case, I'm afraid it would be a novelty for a few times and then relegated to the basement for storage. I just don't have a lot of space in my kitchen to store other than the necessary appliances, unfortunately. Guess I'll just continue with my Trader Joe's ice cream for now!

Is it still going to be the TSV? Full price is listed for that item number now. It is expensive for the TSV price but still might consider it, bit it is no way pricing at $109.

@Ilovetea that's the price in the insider magazine and in my presale email I got 2 days ago. Does QVC lower the price on the actual TSV day? I've never bought anything "presale" before, not sure.

Really small, and 1 to 1.5 hours to make (depending on ambient room temperature). Unless you live in a freezer, I bet it takes closer to the 1.5 hour time when it is midsummer.

For approx 2 servings. That would be torture for a family with kids.

I was so hoping to purchase this ice cream maker until I saw the big price and the small amount of ice cream it makes. A pint and a half would be OK for one or two people but what does one do if there are children in the house. What if you had company and wanted to serve ice cream? I can't believe the nerve of QVC to sell this item at such a ridiculously high price. This is definitely a no-sale for me even though I live alone. May all who purchase ENJOY. docsgirl

Although tempted there are two things that kept me from ordering this.

First, the S&H.

Second, the inner bowl to which the ingredients are added then processed is not removable. IMO that makes cleaning more difficult and too easy to overlook/miss a spot.

After reading the recipes I might have overlooked the S&H charge but once I read about the inner bowl not being removable that was a deal breaker for me. Neither my vision nor my manual dexterity allow much room for error.

So, the way I look at it, premium ice creams like Haagen Daz and Ben & Jerry's come in pints. The last pint of B&J's I bought was 4 servings. So, 1.5 pts is 6 servings. I know most people don't actually follow serving suggestions, but I always got 3 to 4 servings from a pint.

Also, most sugar-free recipes don't store well, so it's a good size for making those if it's just the 2 of you.

I haven't looked at the S&H yet, but the only other one I have found runs about $110.

I actually have one of those electric old-fashioned makers, but I wouldn't be able to use it to make small amounts of the sugar-free stuff. It would be nice if you could buy smaller canisters to work with those. I don't like the ones you have to freeze the canister. I used to have one of those and kept the canister in the freezer since otherwise you have to plan ahead to freeze it. Went to get the canister out of the freezer one day and the inside had collapsed.
