I live alone and I don't cook much. When hubby was alive, I would cook enough for 1 meal and maybe 1 lunch the next day.

Now I might keep a salad for a few days, or slaw or potato salad, items like that.

But I don't like keeping anything more than 1 day.

How long can you eat leftovers and does it differ from how long DH will eat leftovers?

I'm "good to go". As long as I like what the item is, I can eat leftovers four to six days. I make enough vegetables for two days, but the main dish lasts longer occasionally. Sometimes I freeze it, sometimes he will grill the items I'm less fond of and I'll finish up the "planned leftovers! Then I don't have to have the pork chops.

DH has a two day max!

I'm VERY food-picky, so I can only go so far with feeling something is edible and with eating the same thing numerous times in a row. Some things I can eat repetitively, but most - not.

My husband, OTOH, not so much. The things I make he would just eat every day to infinity. While I don't think he would eat food that's too old, I am quite certain that he's not as picky as I.

Depends on the item. Cooked meat longer than mixed dishes. I don't like to keep mixed dishes that different people dip from. Is that spoon clean? Veggies seldom go bad if cooked alone.

I saw an ad for a show on FYI debuting on May 21st entitled, "Scraps". This is way beyond what to do with left-overs, but it promises to be interesting!

PS: we love leftovers-that's huge! I know so many people with partners who insist on a new dish every night.

Poodlepet2
