Odd question: has anyone here contacted CS about the poor quality of a food item?

I want to but it's not like I can send the food item back because it was served to people. Would you call to simply inform CS; would you call to get your money back; would you just leave a 1 star review?

Curious as to what someone would do in this situation because this would be a first time for me having to do this. TIA!

I have done it. Call CS and tell them the food item was not satisfactory. They will give you credit for it. No problem, no questions asked. No need to return anything.

QVC's food items are expensive! No need to pay for something that you did not like.

I think CS would want to know if you felt the product you received was not up to par. I have no idea how/if they would compensate, but they can't improve if they are not aware of customers' feelings.

Call CS and tell them why you were dissatisfied. They will refund your money. You don't have to send anything back. Quick and easy.

I've thrown out so many food items and not asked for a credit - stupid me - right now have 3 boxes left to toss of those chicken nuggets - recent new product. Salty Salty Salty - but I have asked for a credit a few times. Food is so bad on the Q. (I buy pastry locally but Q meat products - side dishes - and prepared dishes are terrible)

@SahmIam - I think it would depend on the circumstances. You say it was served to people. Did everyone (or a lot of your guests) complain about it? Did it get left on the plates or dumped in the trash? Did anyone give a reason why it wasn't satisfactory? Did someone get sick?

You don't say what the food was or why you were unhappy with it. If it was just a personal preference, I wouldn't call for a refund; I'd just leave an honest review.

If the food was bad, I'd call for a refund and explain why.

@GCR18 The thing is, you're not going to know what the food tastes like unless you serve it albeit to yourself, family, friends, at a party, no matter.

If you tried it once, twice whatever and you did not like it, call CS for your credit back on bad food item(s).

@fthunt I really don't understand this. If you keep toss so many items, why do you order anything. I have had one item, which everyone seems to love but I could not eat, for which I was refunded, but then I won't order anything like it again.

I really would not order anything anymore if I were you.

Thanks everyone. I have to say that UNTIL you cook or serve an item, you're not going to know the quality of it so....you're kinda stuck. ONCE you've done that..... and it's a mess/no one likes it/it didn't cook or deliver what the host and vendor said.....now what?

I've only ordered cookies and everyone who received them loved them. This was Ham from KS Steaks....looked great but when warmed/served....not what was expected. There's a reason they don't show certain things on air, I'm discovering. Shame but it was one of 2 main courses and luckily, we had plenty of the other to serve people.

Again, thank you all for your thoughts. I'll contact CS, tell them what we experienced and go from there. : )

@SahmIam - Given what you've just said, absolutely call CS for a refund. I had some steaks once from Kansas City and they were downright tough! We didn't overcook them either.

You can bet I got a refund and I've never ordered another thing from them. I can do better in my local stores.

This happened to me too. I put the cooked ones outside for the racoons and they would not eat them either. LOL. I also used to order those little sandwich steaks they had and all of a sudden the shape was inconsistent one would be 1/2 in. wide and an inch or so thick and the next would be 2-3 inches wide and paper almost see through thin. I never ordered anything else from that company after I received a couple of boxes like that.

Many years ago I did and got a refund with no problems. Had that happen with a couple of items. I no longer order food items.

I had ordered oranges years ago and almost half of them had mold on them. When I contacted customer service they were specific about wanting to know the color of the mold and needed specific numbers of how many were bad before they would credit me anything. I have not ordered any food since that time either.

For many years it has been Q's policy to refund your money completely without a return if you don't find their food satisfactory.

I have bought quite a few food items, and a couple of times I did request a refund.

Once because a My Grandma's coffee cake arrived in crumbles, once when there was the scare about the caramel apples and neither Q or Mrs. Prindibles could vouch for the safety of them (it later turned out the recall was very limited, but I wasn't going to gift apples that could have been tainted), and once when some Harry London's chocolates arrived half melted.

I don't feel a bit bad about it. Their food is expensive and I expect it to be right.

@tiny 2 I know exactly what you are talking about in terms of those sandiwch steaks. I loved them when they were first offered as they made for a quick and delicious dinner when I would come home from work but then I received a delivery that one steak was as expected but the other one looked like a bow tie. As they were on auto-delivery I let another box come and when I saw the same results I called and cancelled. Very disappointing and I agree I stopped ordering from them at that point.

I contacted customer service when I did not like something. I have not ordered a LOT of food items but a few over the years.

If you are not happy with it, you get a refund.

The thing I do not like is certain hosts, (remaining nameless, initials SF), to them, EVERYTHING is always wonderful, tastes amazing, is GREAT.

Well, I purchased one of those items and it was NOT great. It was terrible.

They are really not honest anymore, I don't think.

As far as S&H free, one person was right. They build that into the price.

I have purchased St. Claire's sweet potato casserole for many years, my family absolutely loves it. One year I just looked it up on QVC online, not watching the presentation on TV, since I've purchased it many times before. I noticed it said David Venable's special recipe this time, but no ingredients were listed. I couldn't imagine it could be that different -- why mess up a great thing?

After one taste I couldn't eat anymore. It was horrendously sweet! David's special recipe added pineapple, to a recipe that already had the regular sweet ingredients in it. It was horrible. I called CS and barely had to explain what happened. They were very nice and accommodating and gave me a complete refund. I had to throw out that casserole.

@SahmIam The only food type item I've ever chanced with QVC was wine. Believe me, I'm no connoisseur or sommelier, but I know what vinegar tastes like and that's not what I expect when taking a sip of wine! LOL I called CS about it and they immediately refunded my money and told me to give it away or discard it. Even so, I still left what I thought was an honest/accurate review.
