I have an enameled cast iron pot that I received as a gift in 1975 - and thought it was indestructible. The interior is black, so I thought that only the outside was enameled. Well, my chili was sticking recently, and I must have scraped too hard with the edge of a (plastic) spatula, as now the inside has a chip! So I guess the inside was enameled (in black)? Is this pot still safe to use? I didn't see the chip until I was cleaning up, so assume (yuck) one of us must have swallowed the chip . . .
