Is anyone else getting tired of all the prepared foods that seem to have taken over the ITKWD programs?

I bought a Masterbuilt electric smoker (two in fact) and make my own BBQ ribs, thank you very much and I have been making my own mac and cheese from my grandmother's recipe since I was 10 years old. Why in the world would I want to buy it ready made and have it shipped to me from half way across the country? I can buy ingredients locally at a whole foods market and make my own snack mix for pennies on the dollar of what they sell it for on air. I bake my own cakes, pastries, and cookies and if I don't feel like baking, I have a local bakery that does an excellent job and they are not nearly as expensive plus there is no shipping.

I am so frustrated with the turn QVC has taken in recent years (and I have been a loyal customer since before the name change to QVC by the way) I'm just about to remove them from my favorite channel lineup and just say I'm done!

All I can figure is that the prepared foods appeal to people in rural areas or people who are housebound. Costco sells so many prepared food items like cooked ribs.

I will admit I used to buy chocolate croissants from Williams-Sonoma because they were good.

Well.... it must be selling or they wouldn't continue and add even more to their inventory.

Am I tired of it? Well, I'm basically a short-cut cook and don't mind a really good item that is already prepared. My problem is the price (even with free shipping it's priced high IMHO) AND sometimes the disappointment in ordering something that turns out to a $60 Ham) and it was literaly filled with fat and had a bone twice the size it should have been. Went to my local supermarket and bought one that was bigger, had a normal bone and was moist with a low salt taste.......for about $25.

So I don't buy much food off the Q. I recently decided to try the Corazonas bars and I'm enjoying them, but none of the "flavors" taste like what is advertised, but they taste good. I also love Oats. They are filled with Stanols and Sterols and heated in the microwave slightly they are great for breakfast with my coffee. I am a Diabetic and was worried about the carbs and sugars (even with all the fiber).... but not only did I hit my target reading a few hours later, that reading was great and on the low side.

If things weren't so expensive I'd probably try more....

Not me, I enjoy the cinnamon rolls, pot stickers, and especially the Corky's BBQ. I used to live a n Memphis and love that I can get my favorite BBQ shipped. I live in Cheryl's cookies backyard and still can't get better pricing than QVC on their product.

I do not enjoy gardening shows so I change the channel.

I don't have any of those stores near me. I don't bake anymore, so I normally order some of the dessert items from QVC to give as Christmas gifts. The quality may be just okay to some, but it's better than I can get around here. I always receive huge "thank you"s from the recipients. I used to order things like that from catalogs years ago, but the number of places that still offer food items has dwindled and the ones that are left don't have the quality they once did either.

It wouldn't be so bad if the food were good. At .Christmas, I ordered the smoked turkey breast from Corkey's . The turkey was delicious, but the sides were awful, especially the mac and cheese ( which I threw out) and I love Mac and cheese. It was greasy and disgusting. If they would sell the turkey alone, I would order it again.

It's quite convenient for some. My mom has ordered a lot of the items David shows because she is aging and too frail to cook from scratch any more. I would rather she order those things than live on fast food or skip meals altogether.

There are many things that I don't purchase, but that doesn't mean others don't enjoy it. Obviously, if it was selling, they wouldn't devote so much air time to it. Someone somewhere is ordering and chowing down as I type.

I have bought a few things from the food shows; most of them were bad and way too salty. Got my $$ back tho. I do like the apples and have had good luck with them.

There is a Haggen grocery store in my town that has become the flagship of it's stores, it has incredible, already made food for meals on the go.So far the things I have tried are amazing and well priced. I still cook meals during the week but buy stuff for things I can re heat too. I broke my wrist in Jan. so prep/cooking are challenging. And I don't pay for s/h or have to wait days to get them. Plus spendng in my local town.

I agree. I guess QVC must have an awesome deal with these vendors that they keep bringing them in over and over again. I know some argue that the stuff must sell or they would not bring them in all the time, but every kitchen show is beginning to look almost the same. Those potstickers may very well be delicious but that quantity, I would probbaly never want to see another potsticker again in my life, lol. And nobody here in the house is that cray aboout them. I don't know, I guess there must be a 'call' for them. But some variety would be nice, not just where the food is concerned.

They have Mary's show now, and it is often the very same as David's items. I was hoping with her show, they would have different items. Yes I know they bring in a new thing now and then, but it feels like 90% of the show is a repeat.
