Latest Penzey's offering

Please excuse me if this has already been posted, but Penzey's has some really good deals right now. They have two boxes, Orange Embrace Hope and Yellow Embrace Hope on special till 1/29/17. The Orange is regularly $15.80, on sale for $6.95--it is four 1/4 cup jars, Jerk, Krakow Nights, Bavarian, and Country French (all blends). The Yellow is regularly $14.70, also on sale for $6.95---it is Berbere, Tsardust, English Prime Rib, and Quebec Beef Spice (again all blends). You can get both for a total of $10. Bill Penzey is one of the "kids." I have been buying from them since they printed their catalogue on brown paper grocery bag stock. If memory serves, the parents started out in Milwaukee with one store. Bill has taken this company to the current level with many retail outlets and a huge online business. He used to travel the world buying spices, now that he is married and settled down, he leaves that up to others. His kids have been pictured in the catalogues.

I have loved their spices for years - I have a Penzey's store in my neighborhood too!

I used to read the recipes in the catalogues and skim over Bill's letters - but after I started reading them, I realized that I love his philosophy of life as well. Who can argue with , caring, loving and cooking???

I was sorry to see that they are being boycotted - so I make sure to buy MORE from them. I just bought two sets of the orange and yellow "embrace hope" spices to give as gifts.

For those that are interested in The Spice House I cannot speak more highly of them. I am lucky to have one that is about 20 minutes from my house and they could not be nicer and their products are terrific. They actually mix and blend the spices right in the store along with bottling and shipping. They have a lot of more shall we say exotic offerings. My personal favorite is their Chicago Old Town Sugar Spice blend which is cinnamon sugar with cardamom mixed in, delicious!

I am one that was a huge fan but not now. I don't buy from companies who try to tell you how to live your life. Either way. Respect your customers and don't preach to them or don't get my business. People in business should not engage in that sort of thing. I find it very offensive. So no Penzy's for me sadly. It's find for someone to be involved on a personal level but when you start telling your customer what they should think, that is insulting to them and I don't go for that. EITHER way.

I just placed an order yesterday for those yellow and orange boxes which at $10 for both was a great deal. I also used the code to get the free jar of cocoa. Their natural cocoa powder is the best I've ever used, so dark and rich.

I love Penzey....and have started buying even more lately. They now get all of my spices and herb business, esp since the boycott started. I love their attitude; nice to see people stand up for what they believe in. Outstanding products. Truly.

When we visited Chicago a few years ago, we went to The Spice House. It's a great store and I bought more than I should have. That's where I originally found Tomato Powder (before I started making my own) and I think I originally found Sharp Paprika there, too.

I will always be a Penzey woman.

I think you need to just go to their website and sign up that way.

I can't post the link. Just Google Penzey. When you get to the site, go down to the bottom of the page to Subscriptions. That will allow you to sign up.

My cabinets are full but I'm ticked that he sends out those e-mails with his "views on life". I have a store within 3 miles of me and they are getting less and less business from me. I changed my vanilla from Penzey to Watkins. I try to turn my head the other way with all his e-mails but the older I get the more and more it bothers me.
