Sorry to disagree, I don't miss Chris at all. I like the format and I'm glad the same good cooks are cooking and not having to deal with him acting like a supervisor. ATK is better without Chris. Just my opinion.

me too ..the new shows lack the humor and spontaneity that Chris brought. it seems that everyone left was trying to imitate him, but it didn't work...

if you do some research on why he left, it seems to be very messy,,,,

I don't miss him. I like that new chefs are finally getting airtime.

I read that he has a new magazine, but I haven't seen it in our area.

Chris was fine, but I love Julia and Bridget. I think that ATK is suing Kimble.

I also miss Chris. I always thought he did a good job steering the show. I thought it was weird for Julia to tell Bridget how to cook something and vice versa. Maybe they should bring in more newbies to explain cooking ideas to them.

That's what I meant by the format. Maybe just talk to the viewers (screen) rather than try do what Chris use to do. He had an edge and a fun banter between the cooks and himself.

I like Chris too. My husband and I would kind of laugh though about how his main role on the show seemed to be standing around and watching the others do the work! Oh, and taste-testing.

The thing I always wondered about Chris was-how does a cook stay so darn skinny?

The show was such a stale loaf of bread with Chris at the helm. It was tired and pedantic to me, and I thought he was just tiresome to listen to.

I think when the new shows find their footing they will be wonderful. Chris also is going acting like he discovered spices and foreign foods, when most of us into food have been cooking that way for many years.

Glad to see the other cast members finally out of his shadow.

I've only seen one show so far and can't make any definitive opinion. I'm thinking that the recipes are going to get simpler and streamlined.

He was more of an MC on the shows, and let others do the cooking. I think (hope) they'll do fine going forward.

So far, I've watched one show that he wasn't on, and it seemed to go well.

I'm not a big user of ATK recipes, but I do find the product tests and recommendations interesting.

I miss Chris also, I miss his nerdy sense of humor and he was the 1st to laugh at himself. I also miss those ugly bow ties... lol

I miss Chris, too. I get both Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country and I miss his editorials. I just really liked the guy. It doesn't matter how many times he was married, how thin he is (or wasn't). To me, he made the shows. He had a great sense of humor and you can tell that he got along well with everybody. Jack Bishop enjoyed trying to "get one" over on him during the taste tests. And I enjoyed hearing the history behind some of the recipes while he was sitting on the porch.

He didn't bother me at all and I enjoyed watching the shows. I will let my subscriptions to both magazines expire and I doubt I will renew. Nor will I continue to watch the newer shows.

I watched the first show of the new season on Sat. and I didn't enjoy it as much. I, like the previous poster (Hi!) have all the magazines and several cookbooks from ATK and Cook's Country. Love their recipes.

I will miss him. I don't like change.

@fluffysmom, thank you so much for the mention of Milk Street.

I went to the site, ordered the new magazine, and listened to some of the content. It was great to hear Chris Kimball's voice again--I didn't realize how much I'd missed it.

It looks like Milk Street will have audio and video content, radio and TV shows, recipes, a magazine and a cooking school--pretty much the same as America's Test Kitchen, but maybe more like it when it was just Cook's Illustrated. Nothing against ATK -- I'm just no longer interested since it changed.

I'm wishing his new venture all possible success!

I was glad to see that Jack Bishop and Adam Reid returned. As for Chris, I enjoyed him but thought his vibe was a little strange. I think the show will be fine without him.

I don't miss him - never enjoyed him.

However, I agree with @hopi - they need to freshen up the format.
