waffle makers

Does anyone have one and which one if you don't mind sharing.

My birthday is in January and this is what I want. I LOVE Belgian Waffles and I have always wanted one but I'd like some opinions on the ones folks here like/dislike.

I have had a Waring Pro for years and absolutely LOVE it! It has a dial on it so you can make them browner or lighter depending on what you like.

My son and I love waffles! Yummy! That's part of our Christmas morning routine, and we actually had some this morning. 😊

I purchased a Villaware waffle maker at Williams Sonoma about 10 years ago. It works like new and is easy to clean. I keep it on a low setting (3) and it whistles and flashes a green light when they are ready. Very easy! I take it to work a few times each year when we have potluck breakfasts, and it's always a hit. This one makes three heart-shaped waffles at a time. ❤️❤️❤️ I remember thinking it was pricy even on sale, but I really like the heart shape, and the nonstick surface is a breeze to clean. I have been very happy with this purchase.

My parents, especially dad, were big-time waffle fans. They had them at least a couple times a week. They always had a large, square Sunbeam waffle iron. The waffles nicely fit in the toaster for reheating leftovers.

Villaware is the one recommended by Alton Brown (I just happened to catch this show a week or so ago). It took a while to hunt it down since he didn't give a name brand and it is pricey but if you love waffles it looks like a great appliance which will last a long time.

I love Belgian waffles also. When I found out I had to whip egg whites and fold them into the batter I decided to keep ordering them in restaurants. I just ask them to leave off the strawberries and whip cream.

I got mine at Sam's after my grandmother got one and it worked so well. It is a Waring Pro.

Had to laugh when I read this. Every other week I make homemade waffles from a recipe I found in a Walmart tiny recipe book. Husband doesn't like those big ol' Belgian things and I got a 4 waffle regular maker.

Walmart recipe calls for 3-4 egg whites beat stiff. Why I bought the Kitchen Aid mini mixer just to mix egg whites and mash potatoes, small jobs. anyway, this recipe calls for 2 mixers going . I got the biggy going with the batter then pour in the stiff egg whites . I just make 'em once /twice a month, but, his favorite.

I also wanted a waffle maker but was not sure which brand to buy, or if spending more money equalled a better waffle. I was shopping in Target & saw an Oster Belgium Waffle Maker on sale for $30. Thinking I had nothing to lose, I picked it up. For my first batch I made the batter from scratch, which made okay waffles. For the next batch I used Krusteaz Belgium Waffle Mix, which made the most delicious waffles that even my son loved. Therefore, I found an inexpensive waffle maker using a good waffle mix was all I needed.

@Jayn804 my mom always swore by Krusteaz mixes so I bet they were wonderful . . . welcome to the boards, I hope you join us again soon! . . .

I decided to pick up a Cook's Essentials waffle maker since it was on clearance. I can't wait!

My son and I love waffles and I love the idea of mixing other things into the batter like bacon. YUM!

I really wanted a waffle maker a few years ago and ended up buying waffle plates for the Cuisinart Griddler that I already owned. Very happy with it.

Always use the Krusteaz waffle mix and add a tiny bit of cornmeal for flavor...or pecans.

I have a Waring Pro and love it! I'm a waffle person and not a pancake lover. This is easy to use and clean up is a breeze. The waffles always come out great!

I have a Cuisinart combo panini press, indoor grill pan, waffle maker - the plates change out, depending on what you are using it for. I love it!

Wow @SharkE I am surprised to see that Wolfie doesn't have a waffle maker right now but then again he seems to be thinning the herd of his smaller appliances as even his small pie maker is no longer available.

@JB116 Try chopped pecans, our family favorite.

@SharkE@My mom always made big batches of waffles with the beaten egg whites. Then she'd freeze them and dad would reheat in the toaster when he wanted waffles.

Sounds like a good idea ! I'm old fashion cook just have pricey appliances that my forebears didn't . LOL

Got the Cuisinart for the batter and the KA mini for egg whites.

I cheated. LOL
