Made burgers in the air fryer last night because it was cold & we did not want to light up the grill. Big mistake. Won't be making those in the air fryer again. Our house filled up with smoke. Had to opens windows, turn on a fan, turn on the Heat LOL!!. Yes I put water in the bottom of the one pan but still had lots of smoke.

It was a good thing we made them in there last night though. I asked DH why did our smoke detector not go off. It had gone off before while using the air fryer when you could not see any smoke. A wire had broke off of it so it was not working. It was a Blessing this happened so we can replace it. We had no idea it was not working. DH had just replaced the batteries & it was working.

i cooked two corn dogs in there today. I spritzed them with oil and cookjed at 400 for 8 minutes. I forgot to turn them, so one side was bit darker, so less time would do, say 6 minutes. They were so crispy.

I also did a grilled gouda cheese sandwich in it, but turning it was hard becasue the bread was the wide loaf instead of a squarer loaf. The top slide off a bit and some cheese leaked out. I buttered it like normal. Next time, I'll just spritz it with oil. I saw it on youtube, so I tried it. The guy in the channel cut a paper plate to the size of the container and put that on top and turned the sandwiches out onto it, then put them back in for another 4 minutes at 400.

You may want to try making hamburgers but with less fat than normal since an air fryer needs very little fat to work. 98% lean beef should do well in there.

@Tigriss The hamburger was supposed to be 85/15 but from the looks of them it was more like 75/25. I was out of grass fed hamburger that has no fat in it so DH picked this up on his way home from work.

I cook hamburgers all the time in my air fryer. I use ground chuck and lowered the temp to 380 rather than 400 and cook for 5 minutes turn and cook 5 minutes more spray each side with oil mister and never have had any problems. Most of the temps in the cook books are too high and have learned to reduce temp and cooking time. This is true with steak. keep trying and if all else fails your fryer maybe defective.

I just had to try another corn dog. I lowered the temp to around 375 and cooked 8 minutes. Excellent! I ate it with a glass of champagne. I had a long day at work, so champagne with corn dogs is the way to go!

I just found this on facebook https://www.facebook.com/delish/videos/10154830839282437/ I think it would be great in the air fryer. Chicken fried cauliflower steaks.

Bacon wrapped potatoes stuffed with cheese. https://www.facebook.com/1781736778715043/videos/1866896433532410/ It may not be for an air fryer, but it was too good looking to not share! This guy has good stuff on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/chefclubuk/
