Does anyone who purchased this mixer a month ago have any comments about it. All previous comments have been removed. Is this a good purchase? Why has the price been so drastically lowered?

I have this mixer, but purchased many years ago before they had the glass bowl and the flex-edge beater. I don't remember how much I paid for it but I'm thinking it may have actually been more than what they have it for today. I prefer the tilt-head over the bowl lift because the tilt head actually tilts out of the way for adding ingredients. This line of mixers is the standard. Almost every cooking show you'll see seems to use this mixer, so unless you can find it for cheaper somewhere else, it's a good deal. This design and the bowl-lift designs have been out there forever, and all their attachments fit those machines, so I don't see them discontinuing either model.

It is the holiday season and they are trying to snap up the sales other would be buying on Black Friday for about the same price. Consider it an early BF sale. If you paid more for it less than 30 days ago, they will refund the difference. Just call CS and let them know. This is a VERY good buy. You won't regret the purchase. There is nothing wrong with this model.

Best thing about Q is they have return service for some time after the purchase.

I bought a 300 mixer and it arrived defective, bolt hanging out of the side, etc. Kitchen Aid stood behind it and sent me a new one and paid my postage to mail back the wrecked one.

the one they sent me I had to adjust the screw whenever I wanted to change beaters/bowl sizes. I used it for few months then sent it back and Q reimbursed me for it minus the shp.

I ended up buying from Bed and Bath the Kitchen Aid new MIni with my return money and so far so good. Only one bowl with it so don't have to worry about bowl conflicts. LOL

I already had the big Cuisinart, so, I can get by with the mini as just to mash potatoes and mix egg whites , but, it will do small batches of bread and cookies both.

I think stuff gets damaged in shp. that's why I had such bad luck.

I don't own one but I've noticed that there are variances in the wattage of the motors. To me, that would be an important consideration.

The physical size of the machines is different, so I would expect the larger machine to have a higher wattage, but it has never been an issue for me with my cooking style. Also, the larger machine will have a larger footprint. These are heavy machines, so most people, I would expect, leave them sitting on their counters. The larger machines also have a larger footprint. That's also a consideration for me with my limited counterspace.
