First, I didn't know Sam's carries fresh turkeys but what I also saw was a turkey that was wrapped exactly like a fresh/frozen turkey but it was completely cooked, just heat and serve.

I know you could probably order an already prepared turkey from a deli/grocery store/bakery etc but I didn't know that right next to the fresh packaged turkeys were already cooked one's.

I would think if they advertised them or put some signage to attract the customer to that section but you really have to look and read the package. Learn something new everyday.

Went to Costco today too, they had fresh turkeys but not already packaged prepared one's, at least what I saw.

That's interesting, I wonder if other stores carry them. I buy pre-cooked turkey dinners from a supermarket but the sides are often a problem so I do my own. If I could get just the cooked turkey, I'd definitely do that.

Aren't those turkeys kind of pricey? Last year I made my turkey the day before to reduce stress and have more oven space available, and it worked out beautifully. I've decided to do the same thing for our dinner this year. Just roast the turkey as usual, cool, slice and wrap in groups, in foil. Reserve some of the pan juices before making the gravy. The next day, open the foil and drizzle in some of the reserved juice over the meat. Close up the foil again and reheat in an electric skillet w/lid or something like a Ninja 4-in-1 at about 300°-350° for about an hour and a half, checking and rearranging the packets if necessary.

The cost? I thought they would be really expensive too but it said something like $2.89 a pound and I thought that wasn't bad at all;

Now if you are doing boneless deli turkey, that's about $8.00 a pound for the real stuff.

...and they even had the brand that you buy the turkey and bag and just put in the oven for it to cook...no opening of the bag, nothing, bag in oven, set the time and you are done. I bought a "bagged" chicken one time and that was really good so I'm sure the turkey would be the same. Lots of options for those you do not have the time or just don't want to "fool around" preparing a turkey.
