Thanks for the tip about these gold WS pans. I've never heard anything about them but they sound like something I'd like.

My mom raised me with Mirro but I discovered the Williams Sonoma gold series baking pans and I just can't say anything bad about them. Yes, they are an investment but worth every single penny.

They bake evenly, have a good weight to them, easy slide off or lift off, and overall, takes no time for clean up.

Wish I had these years ago, you can't imagine how many 8" and 9" rounds and squares I bought let alone bread pans searching for the perfect pan and I found it accidentally.

So, if you are frustrated with uneven baking or soaking for hours to clean up, this is your solution. I feel I'm one of those Fair people selling the latest greatest gadget out there...no seriously, buy the best and you'll have it for a long time.

Over the last few years I have bought several new baking pans recommended by america's test kitchen, several different brands. What a difference! Threw out the old junk that used to buckle in the oven.

Next to the Williams-Sonoma gold, I think USA Pans are very nice! I have a 9 x 13 pan of theirs and a loaf pan that I didn't throw out!

I like the USA bakeware also -- purchased it and the Williams Sonoma brand (not sure if it's gold) at their outlet. They have such great deals there. I've gotten candles and cooking utensils for 30% off.

I'm glad you like the gold pans. My daughter asked for some for Christmas a couple of years ago and she has raved about them since then. Perhaps it's time to treat myself to some!

LOL, I saw your thread title and thought Gee, probably someone asking for recommendations for bakeware. I'll put in my usual good word for Williams-Sonoma Gold Touch. Now I see I don't have to.

They are simply the best. Period. I have 2 cookie sheets with racks, the meatloaf pan, 2 of the baker's half-sheets, 1 rimmed full sheet, 2 of the 9-inch cake pans, the 8" and 9" squares, the 9 x 13, and the 9 x 5 loaf pan which I used last weekend to make Trader Joe's beer bread. Yum!

My second favorite is the Platinum Professional line from Sur La Table. It's also textured like the Gold Touch. Both lines are made by USA Pan.

If you get on W-S's email list, they'll send you notice of their sales. The bakeware goes on sale for 20% off fairly often. They always have a big sale after the holidays too.

I like the USA pans, too. Also Chicago Metallic for the larger sheet pans. I need to buy a nice 9 x 13 cake pan with lid. My pie pans are all either ceramic or stone. My layer cake pans are all glass. My bread loaf pans are stone.
