He is from Texas - And, his Mom fried like three times a week. I am from New York - and I never really knew anyone that fried a lot (not saying they don't - just the people we knew) - except maybe chicken once in awhile in the summer. Usually everything was baked or broiled.

OH - but the BIGGEST difference is that he hates chocolate! I remember being like totally shocked by that one when we first started going out! I NEVER knew anyone that did not like chocolate! Now, that I am thinking about it - I think my jaw must have dropped to the floor on that one!! I was seriously thinking "you are crazy dude!"! 😀 Yep, after all these years - I am still shaking my head over that one!!!

@CAMOGIRLI've run into several people that didn't like chocolate! It is SO amazing! LOL!

My DH will occasionally eat cornbread (we have rolls with company/fam dinners), he prefers fried okra and squash to anything, although, he will eat it. He can tolerate hot, I can't and burn up. I am much more likely to eat quiche, he likes breakfast for dinner-me UGH!

He can crunch cereal in the am. I'm Instant Breakfast or fruit. Cool, light, doesn't weigh me down!

Fortunately, my husband is not a picky eater. He will eat anything I put in front of him. That being said, if left on his own, he will eat cereal or make a sandwich. Or, he will sometimes not eat. Cooking is not his thing. I have always enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. I stopped eating beef 10 years ago, but will cook a pot roast several times a year for my husband. When we go out to eat he will sometimes order a beef dish. We set a lot of chicken and fish. Over the years I've tried to teach him a few simply things to make but he won't go to the trouble of making something for himself. I've usually got some kind of leftovers in the refrigerator or something in the freezer that he could easily warm up, but he's too lazy to look. 😳

Annabellethecat, you honestly just described my husband & me! After 49 years of wedded bliss (😊), we are still as different as ever..he is a morning person & I have never been..after 5 years of retirement, sometimes I think we are just getting to know each other...

My husband and I are polar opposites on practically everything, including food.

He loves eggs and would eat them every day; I'm allergic to egg whites, and only eat eggs as an ingredient.

He loves breakfast food in the morning; a great breakfast to me is a hotdog, hamburger, a BBQ, or cold pizza. He loves cold cereal and could eat an entire box at one time. In my entire lifetime (60 years) I may have eaten an entire box of Cheerios or Rice Krispies.

He loves fish, sardines, and seafood; you couldn't pay me to eat any of it. You couldn't pay him to eat chicken livers or cooked cabbage.

He loves pork; I love beef.

He uses 3 trays of ice every day; I like all drinks warm and never add ice.

He likes to see bread with most meals; I generally pass on bread. I will eat cornbread with beans or a biscuit with gravy, but bread is an easy thing for me to leave off the table.

He loves pie; I love cake.

He craves greens, like spinach and kale; I crave hamburgers.

He loves cheese and could eat it every day; I only eat it on pizza once a month.

Regarding food, my husband is the more adventurous of us. He's willing to try most anything at least once. He likes spicy food, I can't even eat simple black pepper. He'll ear sushi, I won't touch it. He likes most vegetables, I did them terribly bitter and won't eat many.

Personality wise, even though I'm an avowed introvert, I'm the more social one in that I have people whom I get together with on occasion. That said, he never meets someone who doesn't instantly like him. People tend to take time to warm up to me, but that's likely my fault: see introverted.
