Nice chart!

I am addicted to stilltasty.com. You can enter just about any foods (fresh, canned, frozen etc) and it will tell you how long it can stay in frig, freezer etc. Saved me from throwing things out unnecessarily

Strange. I have a 5 foot stand up freezer. As long as I package foods that can be frozen in air tight bags, they can stay in the freezer for up to 2 years.

FWIW...

I've been using the Food Saver bags for over 20 yrs. Prior to that, I used freezer paper.

It depends on the cellurel construction. Starches and dairy tens to get mealy or fall apart.

I've read that honey is the one food that never expires. It will crystalize but it's still edible.

Sugar, salt and rice (white) are the same, if stored properly.

I just cleaned out my "wine stash." I had bottles stuck in the back of the cabinet that I had forgotten about. Some of them had been there for about 20 years ... corks dried out.. Six bottles of wine down the drain. Next stop ... cabinet where the hard stuff is stored. I'm going to dump anything that's already opened, and buy some fresh adult beverages. My tastes have changed.
