Just For Fun-Your Fav Alcoholic Drinks?

Usually, I have white zin because I don't want to spend the calories on anything else!

Last night we went to a cook out at a long time friend's house and he made me one of my "old favorites"-a dirty martini! I enjoyed it very much, it had been years since I had had one!

I also like pina colodas, cosmos, and Singapore slings which are really old! LOL!

I can't do sour/tart so I can't do tequila.

I buy a load of fruitcakes during the "season" and soak them in brandy......various flavors........and seal them in Tupperware, and refrigerate. They are just about "ready" NOW! A bite is all you need...............

Oh I always tell my dh that I'm certainly a cheap date. My first choice is always Berringer White Zin, but its gotta be Berringer. A close second place is from one of our local wineries, Grand Traverse Reisling. Yum

My fav drink is called a Chi-Chi. I lived in Hawaii for 4 years and that is where I discovered them.

It's a Pina Colada basically but with vodka instead of rum. It's SO good.

But when I can't get that I love a peach bellini or a tequila sunrise.

Gin & Tonic (Preferably with Hendricks or Bombay Saffire gin)

Gin Martini (dirty,two blue cheese stuffed olives,please!)

In the summertime I really enjoy a cool shandy - 1/2 lemonade 1/2 Dos Equis.

I love Mount Gay 1730 amber Rum from Barbados (or any rum from Barbados) with a great tasting ginger ale.

Or I'll take a Mount Gay with pepsi too.

Or I'll drink Svedka Vodka mixed with 7UP, pepsi, pink grapefruit juice or OJ.

Dos Equis is good.

A great marguarita with GOOD tequila, on the rocks yes salt on the rim please.

I love a good, home-made sangria. There's a nearby BBQ restaurant (of all places!) that serves it by the pitcher and it's wonderful. I've tried it a few times myself with decent results.

Love an ice-cold beer in a bottle that's been in the freezer for about 15 minutes.

And I would never turn down a martini or margarita.

I don't drink any alcohol. I've just never developed a taste for it. I take a sip and it tastes horrible to me. Wine, beer, liquor--it's all the same. I just don't like it.

Intellectually, I know wine is an alcoholic drink; however, I just don't view it as such. My DH and I treat wine as a pleasurable food item, a complement to just about all our dinners. On average, I suppose, we drink 5 bottles (-/+) a week, and cellar ten to twelve cases at any given time.

For a refreshing Summertime drink, we'll opt for a gin and tonic every time. Come cooler temperatures, we'll switch to bourbon, with Woodford Reserve being our first choice. He likes his on rocks, I don't want water anywhere near my bourbon. As I teasingly tell him, "It took eighteen years to get the water out. Why on Earth would you put it back in?!"
