Have you come across a new cookbook lately you really like?

I belong to a cooking and supper club. Every month, we prepare dishes from a new cookbook. Our August cookbook was Tasting Rome. September will be a Greek cookbook.

What is nice is that we are preparing dishes that we have usually never heard of, eaten, or prepared. I am finding that there are quite a few dishes now that are becoming regulars in our home.

Yes. I want Ina's new cookbook Cooking for Jeffrey, too.

I've preordered America's Test Kitchen's Bread Illustrated from Amazon (cheaper than from QVC). Supposed to get here around September 6. I'd also like to get their Cook It in Cast Iron.

All About Braising by Molly Stevens is on my must-have list.

I'm looking at Nadiya's Kitchen; she was on the Great British Baking Show and is coming out with her first cookbook. I liked her very much on the show.

There are more books, too, but I need to get back to the Amazon web site.

ETA: I'm watching and see that Meredith is hawking her Air Fry Everything book. It is $18.96 (I don't remember what shipping was). At the "other" place, it's $13.31 with free shipping with Prime. Just an FYI. I ordered it tonight. I like Meredith Lawrence and have her pressure cookbooks.

I used to have a lot of them but sold or gave most away. There are so many sites on the internet with free recipes that I won't ever buy another one. I like that most sites include comments from folks who have tried the recipes along with their suggestions for adjustments to lower calories, adjust flavors, reduce cost, etc.

I loved Nadiya too, wasn't she a lovely young woman? Will be very interested to see her cook book. Mary Berry has some great books too and not just baking.

I have the Cooking in Cast Iron book out from the library right now and it is very good, I'm thinking of buying it.

She was so nice to watch and I enjoyed her. I think her Wellington Sausage Rolls recipe is in the book. The book got excellent reviews on Amazon.

I'm very intrigued by Cook It in Cast Iron. Thanks!

Lately my two go to cookbooks have been America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country.

I just wish they would publish each season separately instead of a whole new book each year to add the new seasons.

I won't use the website, the first time I went to it, they wanted too much sign up information and not long ago, I tried it again and they wanted you to pay for a subscription to use the site. Don't know if they've changed it, it's been a while.

I went over to B & N during my lunch break; had a gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket. And I bought Cook It in Cast Iron. My, I'm going to be using that book! Indoor Barbecued Chicken, Pork Chops with Bell Pepper Chutney, Baked Ziti with Charred Tomatoes, Sausage Lasagna, Skillet Macaroni and Cheese......all truly excellent reasons to buy this book!

Oh, I can't wait to get home from work tonight! I'm taking chicken breasts out of the freezer to thaw. And tomorrow night, our supper will be Oven-Seared Chicken Breasts with Leek and Tarragon Pan Sauce. Yum!

@CelticCrafter, yes, their website is like that. You pay for the magazines, then pay separately for the use of the website. Keep in mind, though, that you can get their tv recipes free on the web for a limited time, for both ATK and Cook's Country. I'm not sure how long they're available.

I just got "Meat on the Side" by Nikki Dinki.

She was a contestant on Fodd Network Star and went pretty far in the competition.

I know her uncle so I followed the show closely.

Every recipe has a full page color photo. She uses meat, but more as a condiment than as the main course.

The recipes I have tried have turned out great. This is the perfect time of the year to use her book - I go to the farmers market every week.

She has a blog too if you want an idea of what her recipes are like.

I have a new system for cookbooks. I check them out from the library and if after I read them I still want them I buy them. If there are just two or three recipes that I am interested in I copy them and return the book to the library. In the last couple of years the only one I liked enough to pay for was Heart and Soul in the Kitchen by Jacques Pepin. Of course that does not explain why I have two bookcases full of cookbooks!

I've stopped buying cookbooks except for Ina and Pioneer Woman.

I am really looking forward to Ina's new cookbook. I am hoping it gets back to her basics and everything is new.

Her last 2 books were just re-done recipes with a new ingredient.

@VaBelle35 I am looking forward to reading the reviews on Ina's new cook book (and am kind of bummed that Amazon doesn't have any preview pages as I would like to get a little bit of the feel of the book itself if that makes sense).

I also received an email earlier today from a website that I subscribe to for their email blasts (Dam* Delicious) and her cook book is coming out soon too. I love this site as she has delicious and easy to make recipes and if you email her proof of purchase of the book she'll send you additional recipes in an e-book.

If anyone is looking for easy and delicious recipes, I would highly recommend looking into both her website and her cook book when it launches.

I just bought "The Dutch Oven Cookbook" by Williams-Sonoma test kitchens. It is a tiny little book, has beautiful full-page photographs and very basic recipes that look great and are a good variety. A few are:

Carnitas with pickled red onion

Coconut braised chicken thighs with lemongrass

Curried Meatballs with Tomato Sauce

Faux Chicken Pho

Bouillabaisse

Five Spice Beef Stew with Green Beans

Gnocchi with Beef Ragu

Whole Roasted Cauliflower with Almond Gremolita

Summer Vegetable Lasagna

Maple Bourbon Short Ribs

As well as a few other sides, main dishes, cinnamon rolls, bread and a cherry crumble with white chocolate streuset.

Now many recipes, but I bought it because it is a little book I could pull out and quick make a recipe for company or for us. Sort of a basic book that you could change a few items in the recipes and make them with pantry ingredients.

I am a sucker for a book like this! Not TOO many choices and all of them look like something you could count on that people would eat.

I think they have others in this series--so check them out if you are in a Williams-Sonoma. Would be a neat book for a shower gift with some kitchen towels and tools.

My hubby is a cook book nut. I don't use very many of the recipes out of them so I wait until I think he's forgotten and throw them in our yard sales. He gets them at yard sales so... My favorites are the collections from church or organizations. Down home recipes that you can use as a guideline and make them your own.

I would love to be able to do that but our library doesn't have much of a collection of current cook books. In fact I think I own more cookbooks than they have!
