Ninjas and Nutribullets have come and gone because of too much extra stuff that is part of the package or they quit working. The wattage is a concern for the S30 but what is complained about happens with all brands and there is always a work around. I have read all the good and bad reviews of this particular model and yet I still want it. I have a big Vitamix and it does get used but for smoothies I end up making more than is needed just to put more in the container.

I use my Vitamix to make a week's worth at a time, then freeze them. I take them out the night before to defrost, and grab and go in the morning. I put them in wide mouth mason jars that are 12oz. MY sister does this as well.

HI Ilovetea---From what I've read about this Vitamix, it has pretty good reviews--4.5 out of 5 stars. Went to Amazon and costco; but it is a pricy little monster for how small it is. I wonder if that container would fit on a reg vitamix--now wouldn't that be great!! I have the big 64 oz container as well as the 32 oz one which is a good size for smoothies for 2. But having a container that you can make 1 smoothie in would be the bomb!!! I bought a Nutri bullet a couple years ago and used it solid for about a year mostly for smoothies and it did a good job but it just kind of wore out . So I bought a new Vitamix in Feb that I LOVE!!!

Sounds like a good alternative. So no problems with Mason jars in the freezer? I was at Target last night and there are more Mason jar options available now than what I remember.

I have had containers break that I put in the freezer so I try to be cautious. There seem to be more accessories for Mason jars now as I have been finding sip lids and straw lids in the store so I will definitely try this.

The containers may be breaking because you are filling them too full. Leave a nice gap, 1/2in to 3/4in, at the top so the liquid can expand.

Llovetea, plastic can become brittle in the freezer. The metal lids won't, so you can just pop the sipper lid on when you take it out of the fridge and head to work. It makes smoothies super easy to work into your life!

I wouldn't buy the S30! I gave my regular Vitamix to my daughter in law since I'm a widow and I felt this would be smaller and better for my needs. Big Mistake! It's only 700 watts..I had seeds between my teeth after every smoothie. You have to cook soups first and then put them in this! Why would I ever want to do this? My larger Vitamix made really good soup from scratch. It also leaked and when I called they sent me a replacement gasket and told me that is why they put the hole in back! I returned my S30 and purchased a regular sized Vitamix.

I ordered this when it was last presented and I absolutely LOVE IT! I have made a smoothie every day for the last 8 days. I'm amazed at the power compared by my old blender (Oster). I watched a video on Youtube that had a very good tip and that was when you take it apart to wash/rinse it, it's very important to also remove the little red gasket and clean it. Otherwise it will build up and possibly leak.

Clearly, this is called a "personal blender" for a reason. It is a little smaller but since it's just my husband and I, it's perfect. In fact, I plan to pack it to take with us in our RV for the summer.

I highly recommend this S30!

I did go ahead and order the S30 because I wanted it. The sale price was too good to not at least try it and it can still be sent back if it doesn't do what I want. So far It has been impressive with ice and frozen fruits blended with spinach and kale...it was much better than my Nutribullet. There are still some things I need to try, but so far, it is doing better than expected for a personal blender.

I am also taking the suggestion for the Mason jars to fix smoothies for the week with my big Vitamix. The new lids are nice. The purpose of getting the S30 was to complement use with the big one.
