I really enjoy watching the Simply Ming shows. I have some of his pans (I use the square grill pan w/lid a LOT) and they all work with my induction unit.....high heat. I saw the special today is almost exactly like the Copper Chef. I believe the technology is mostly the same using only different names. The Copper Chef pan is larger (9.5); thus the price difference. I find myself using the Copper Chef pan all the time for small and larger amounts of food. Keep in mind....they ALL scratch. I won't be getting the Simply Ming pan today, as I have the Copper Chef; but I will now wait to see him in September when he returns. Mings colors are nice.

Not sure I'd buy another Ming pan. While it's probably the best for nonstick, the edges at the rim are flaking off and I've not had it that long.

@debic Why don't you see if you can return the pan.I don't think it is healthy to use if peeling.I also think it is good to let suppliers know about inferior products so they can improve.

@klajfakj The Ming pan is larger...11"x11", 7.5 qt., compared to Copper Chef at 9.5" and 4.5 qt.

I was interested in the Copper Chef Pan (didn't know about Ming), searched it here and...not available.

Is that because of the advance orders are all sold out (no waitlist), or are there "issues" already?

@esmerelda, the Copper Chef pan is still available for 6/22 shipping. I was on an earlier advance order and received mine yesterday. Nice looking pan, just the right size, and I look forward to using it very soon.

@esmerelda I just checked item K45047 and it is available with a June 22 ship date (even popped one into my cart to make sure) so maybe some have been made available in the meantime.

Thanks, @momtochloe. I saw it, I think under a different number today. I also saw the reviews. More last night and a higher average, like 3.2 stars. Today only l review (?) and 2 star rating...complained of flaking on the bottom. Inside or outside? It wasn't clear.

I'm waiting to hear from others. It's not like it was a TSV.

@esmerelda, I remember when this first came to QVC and I went to Amazon to check the reviews. Most folks loved it but the latest reviews that are coming in are not good but again they are more than balanced out by the overall consensus.

@mtc Thanks for that. The newer reviews being not as good as earlier ones makes me wonder if there's been a change (not in a good way) in manufacturing. I tend to go by newer reviews for that reason. I may take a look at amazon myself.

What is this concept of using only one pan? Bake, fry, boil, etc. What happens when your meal has more than one thing? And for what it is, basically a cheap aluminum pan, its ungodly expensive. Both of them.

It just gets stranger and stranger.

I tried twice, hours apart, to order from their online site (because of the limited lifetime warranty) using PayPal. When I tried to checkout I got "PayPal is unavailable at this time" or something like that.

So I looked here again. Earlier, I got the same "not available" as I was seeing yesterday. When I looked just now at the items in David's show, I saw it and put it in my cart. I noticed it was a different number (K44914) from yesterday. And on the page listing the items in David's show, it shows 8 reviews, 3.5 stars. When I click on it to look at reviews...there are none.

Makes me think I'm not supposed to get this pan.

That's really odd @esmerelda, I never like when item numbers keep shifting around as it makes me think something is up (although I do realize this had a few different delivery dates so maybe that can cause that at times?).

It must be system day problems for QVC as earlier I tried to buy a pair of those fit over sunglasses that were LTS but I couldn't get the cart to check out properly . . . I too decided they weren't meant to be . . .

@esmerelda, @momtochloe, the different product numbers reflect the different advance order shipping dates. I got my pan about a week ago, an advance order, and it had a different number than the one you mentioned in your post, and I would bet that it's a different number than the other advance order shipping dates over the past couple of weeks.

@Brooklynny You may be right about the different numbers and different shipments. Still one would think all reviews would show up regardless of ship date.

Also want to specify the PayPal issue was not at PayPal. It was on the merchant's end.

@esmerelda, if I'm not mistaken, I saw a thread elsewhere on the forums that there was a problem with reviews -- like so many website problems lately -- so that might explain the lack of reviews. It seems that the posting of reviews by QVC takes longer and longer to appear -- in my experience, at least a week. As for PayPal, I don't use it, so I wouldn't comment on that. Thanks.
