I am wondering what happened to the Technique quality? I noticed the line is almost completely gone. I own a set and I find that it is no better than the Teflon brand you can buy at Kmart or Walmart Their warranty is worthless I found out and am so disappointed that they do not stand behind this product anymore. Anybody else hate their Technique pieces like I now do?

Well, I haven't bought any lately, but that is because the stuff I bought years ago is still holding up nicely- I have the hard anodized.. What kind do you have that is failing? did the handles break? did the coating scrape off?

Of course, I still have some of the old Ultrex (we were talking about Art Krull the other day here) and it has held upwell for me too, AND I can use it on my induction cooktop, which I cannot do with Hard Anodized...

I would love to know, so that i don't make the mistake of getting anything from that particular line...

Love mine. Granted, I also own an older set and it still looks and works great! Ever since they introduced their Color Smart line, it went downhill.

I have several sets and given several sets. Most have had to be replaced but I've never had a problem with getting them replaced. It may not be the exact item but it has been comparable. I am not hung up on everything matching as I have so many brands from Caphalon that is over 30 years old, LeCreuset, Technique, etc. I like them all for different jobs.

There is aluminum and there is hard anodized aluminum. I believe QVC is featuring plain old aluminum. Its softer, cheaper, and doesn't hold up like hard anodized. Adding color is just a smoke screen.

I think the focus of QVC has changed on this line of cookware (and cookware in general). Originally, Technique was the upper-end of the Cooks Essentials line, intended for more serious home cooks. Over time, though, the focus has shifted to providing pretty pots and pans for people who prefer nice-looking kitchens rather than utilitarian ones. After all, instead of focusing on the construction of the cookware or even its basic materials, now they are focusing on nonstick coatings in various colors. While this may be fine for many people, this does not stand up to heavy use and abuse.

For me, I will stick with the All-Clad I absolutely love for most things. I do have a couple of non-stick pans that I use for eggs. I buy the inexpensive ones from the restaurant supply store, and I replace them every few years, as needed.

I love all my Techniques cookware, especially the enameled cast iron which is just as good as LeCreuset or Staubs or MCM or Kitchen aid or any other brands I own. Also use their Anodized Aluminum, and Silicone baking sets constantly.

I admit, with the many sets I own...I haven't bought any lately, but I have not had the need to.

Enjoy!

Camo

I think the quality is really bad. I refuse to buy anymore CE or Technique. The last set of Techniques interior and the exterior scratches very, very easy! Also the weight is about 1/2 of what it used to be. Going back to my TrI Ply and cast iron.

I'm also very disappointed with my set. It started to feather (the red interior paint) around the top of the smallest pot that I use everyday. Now, less than a year later, every one of the pieces in my TSV have done the same thing. My question now is are they still safe to use??? I think QVC stopped selling them when they realized there was a problem. I have always hand washed them and I loved them at first. They are still non stick but are these little flakes of paint going into my food??? I decided to treat myself and replace the 30 yr old Farberware set I got as a wedding gift. Now I wish I had them back. I just think QVC should have stepped up and at least sent out letters to the thousands of people that bought the TSV on that day alone and told us about the safety aspect of this product. I've learned my lesson and won't be buying anything like this again from them. I guess I'll just stick to jewelry....

I have a set of their hard anodized from a few years back. It has held up pretty well I would say.. The finish is still pretty much perfect. But, gotta tell you - for myself I really prefer pots and pans without any kind of non stick finish in them - you have to baby them too much, using wood or plastic spoons, etc. I will stick with a good non stick for skillets say for eggs and bacon - but, I think I will go back to good quality heavy pots without any kind of finish in them at all. I have been looking online - but, have not decided exactly what brand I am going with yet. I think too - I am just buying whatever pots I actually need and not a complete set with ones in them I hardly ever use. I am sure I will end up with less pots for the money, but at least I will have just the types or sizes I want and nothing more.
