topic Does anyone use Mason jars to store dry goods? in Kitchen

I've seen this done in magazines and blogs, but don't know any one who does. I'm thinking about getting some of the jars ( with plastic lids) to store things like rice and pasta. Does anyone use them and if so, what do store in them? Thanks
