I was browsing the Incredible Egg site for recipes and found this tip:

Avoid cast iron. Eggs scrambled in a cast iron skillet can turn a greenish shade. This harmless but unappealing color change is the result of a chemical reaction between iron in the pan and sulfur in egg whites.

This applies to raw cast iron, not enameled. The tips are after the recipe.

The little one, I made bacon in it. The medium and large ones, I seasoned and baked for over two months.

The little 6 inch skillet I made the bacon in was black and nothing stuck to it!

I got rid of all of them when I got my LC collection. If I were to get another one, I would season it with bacon. :-)

I think that was true long ago, but today's bacon sometimes has so much sugar and salt water in it that is just makes a sticky mess in the pan--new OR seasoned. Maybe just try melting some pork fat from a pork roast and heating it for a little while.

mmm...pork fat (Homer Simpson drool)

While you're making bacon, try adding butter and a sliced potato. See how it turns out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
