topic Vitamix TSV vs. variable speed in Kitchen

I have been wanting a Vitamix for a long time and finally took the plunge and ordered one at the end of January, it just shipped on February 14th. I ordered the 48 oz Creations II with variable speed.

Of course the TSV came along and got my attention, same price but the TSV comes with the dry container. Maybe not a big deal, but pricing them seperately, it is.

Can Vitamix owners PLEASE let me know about the difference between variable speed and high/low. I have read in another post that someone was concerned about burning out the motor with the high/low model.

I am getting one of them either way, but for the money I'm investing in it, I want to be sure it'll last a long time. I know about their reputation for CS and the warranty is great, I just don't want to second guess myself and wish I had gotten another model. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!
