M48312 Egg Harbor Shrimp Substitute

I am soooo upset. The Egg Harbor Japanese Style Fried Shrimp have become a staple in our house. I went to reorder again and this item is sold out. Anyone have a suggestion for a substitute that could be purchased in my local grocery store in the frozen section until these hopefully come back in stock? I have access to Publix, Winn Dixie & Fresh Market. TIA!

I love Tiger Thai brand...most markets here in California have them..They are tempura, no panko, for some reason these look like they have panko crumbs......The Sea Pack ones might be to your liking and are very prevalent...

@Mothertrucker, I have seen Sea Pack Tempura Fried a Shrimp & noticed they looked the same. I am going to try them tomorrow.

How are the shrimp straight? I eat shrimp all the time, fresh, and they never are straight like that. Those must be prawns, which we don't have fresh around here. I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SOCKziArps

Our shrimp are no where near that large, but they are fresh from the Georgia coast!

@Tigriss, enjoyed the video & I agree with you. We are not seafood fans however we love the Egg Harbor shrimp. My mom sent it to us as a gift & we have been hooked ever since. The $76.00 for 40 is a bit pricey but I will be trying Trader Joe's tempura shrimp & SeaPak. Hopefully Egg Harbor will appear available again on my wish list.

They are "straight" because they are butterflied..

@Mothertrucker, those look great! I think I can find that brand in Albertson's down here & I am most definitely trying the SeaPak as well. I hope either one of these brands can measure up to Egg Harbor's!
