On William's site-you know the one from Sonoma--ALL of the ones sell say expertly assembled in the US. So they could simply screw the head on the base and it would be assembled here. I would LOVE to know how much of those mixers is actually manufactured here. Possibly NONE!

Probably NONE!

It would make an excellent early Easter/Passover present for all of that great food we cook on this breaking spring!

I don't bake enough to really have much more than a hand mixer, but will want one when I have kids because I love baking with my niece and nephew with my sister's and mother's. I try not to have baked goods in the house or I will eat them. If it ain't here, I can't eat it!!

Year after year I would make batch after batch by hand, my husband gave them to people at his work, my kids gave them to teachers, it got so everyone asked about these cookies every year (they have 3 chocolate flavors in them, white, milk and dark. They have three nuts in them, walnuts, almond slivers and pecans and are more like candy than a cookie. There is only enough dough in them to (barely) hold the good stuff together)..... then it got too hard. I couldn't get it mixed properly, killed my hands.

I couldn't believe the power the 575 watt mixer had. I do a 6 qt batch at a time now and do three 6 qt loads at one sitting.... for me it's been a blessing. I also use it for regular stuff, mashed potatos, egg whites, you name it. I just throw a Kitchenaid cover over it and it recesses right into the back of my counter..... one of the best appliance purchases I've ever made...

He asked me for the item number and actually went on to QVC's website to see the preview of the TSV for tomorrow and was shocked to see that it said at the bottom of the specifications, imported

He said the box should come with a sticker that says made in the USA and on the bottom of the mixer there will be an etching stating that it was either made in the USA or in Greenville, Ohio. I'll be looking for that etching as soon as I receive the KitchenAid. Thank you and I hope this helps someone else who may have concerns like I did.

Hi That's Life! I sincerely hope he's right. I am concerned because they started making the hand mixers and food processors, for QVC anyway, in China and it just looked like this was the natural progression (or should we say regression? hehe).

Anyway, fingers crossed!

AFAIK, this is the first 'stand mixer' from KA that has not shown 'Made in the USA' here. I'm really hoping that the graphic is wrong but I feel like I will be surprised if it is (still - fingers crossed!).

In all my 55 years of cooking I've actually never needed a stand mixer so I have never purchased one. If it were before Hobart sold them to another manufacturer, and I suddenly needed/wanted one, I would have purchased KA. At this point, however, I would go with another brand such as Hobart, Viking, or a few others out there.

It seems like problems started right after they were sold by Hobart. They started using some plastic pieces where there used to be metal pieces, etc. Now this - IF they are making the QVC ones in China this time.

I think, because of the problems of some of the plastic pieces, however, I read that they went back to making some of those pieces of metal. Hopefully, that brought back some of the quality. The thing with this company is that they are still riding on the excellent reputation they had for all those years when they were made by Hobart. I hate to see when a company changes and quality begins to decline and corner are cut. (that's not a hit on KA - just a general statement. I've seen it with all kinds of different products, especially here)

Interesting...the Q just had a KA stand mixer as a TSV last December, and now another one?

I wonder if you can purchase the recipe book separately? I'd like to get that.

If you ever get a chance to go to the Kitchen Aid Experience store in Greenville take it. I love going there. The customer service is awesome. We had a friend who retired from Whirlpool and he sent us an invitation to Whirlpool's friends and family program. Since Kitchen Aid is affiliated with Whirlpool I could have purchased some great stuff when we got our new appliances last fall.
