Aerogarden - does anyone know?

Here's the Aerogarden that I'm thinking of purchasing. Does anyone here own this already?

I'm wondering if I can use seeds from packets, rather than repurchasing the replacement pods.

You can use your own seeds but you have to buy their empty pods. You can't reuse the pods as far as I know. I have two of the bigger gardens and they work quite well but my husband thinks they are two noisy and I quit using them. I had the most success with basil.

I personally thought they were a lot more work than they were worth. I had 2 and after the 3rd batch of growing herbs I tossed both of them. Bulbs are supposed to be changed often. I see some are LED but those do burn out in spite of the claims.

Thanks for the feedback. I ordered it in the morning and canceled it in the afternoon. I really don't have room for the machine.
