Parker House rolls? I'd know those anywhere. My Mom made her own and the family just hovered in the kitchen for them to come out of the oven.

And if your's are not Parker House, they are STILL some beautiful buns!!!!! There's a certain aroma when you bake buns & bread and it is heaven-sent for sure.

I don't have to be hungry to eat them, unfortunately. Bread is my weakness. I can walk right past cake and cookies, but bread seems to jump in front of me and not let me pass!

My sister sent me this recipe I wasn't impressed I've been looking for the perfect roll recipe for yrs. Spent money on books, went online to King Arthur, etc. That was my quest. Then, she sends me this basic roll I looked at it and said ho hum nothing special put off making it, etc. Then , yesterday, I said now's the time it's good roll raising temps house is hot LOL so, I made it up and she said don't flatten the dough out when you go in for the 2nd raising just take the lump of dough flatten out a little keep "dough thick, then, use A PIZZA CUTTER CUT OUT SECTIONS (HUH) AND FORM INTO ROLLS I thought that was stupid, but, she is my sister , so, I played along I got 9-10 rolls from it put the pan in front of the window with the sun coming in , they rose a 2nd time. Preheated oven 350` still not thinking anything special, baked for 15-20 min. let cool and ate one I said 'Now, that's what I'm talking about tall, tender and delicious.

Made me mad when I had to send her an email telling her I had to give her credit she beat me.

Now I'm trying to find the Pillsbury Kitchen Favorites Cookbook from 1979 written by Christina Fossum. I WANT THAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found on Amazon, but, golly it's a vintage/retro book and costs 30 ! Yikes!

I have a 1970 reprint of the 1904 Christmas Edition of the Gold Medal Flour Cook Book, inherited from my mother--wonder whether that is available anywhere these days?

It contains extensive historical and updated information about baking all types of breads, including Parker House rolls, as well as other other types of foods--fish, puddings......and even furniture polish (!!) using sweet oil, lemon juice and corn starch.

I love Parker House rolls, and for many years every time I entertained, I went to a local family-owned baker and bought a dozen or two.......they were the best in the world to me.

I also got to enjoy the similar rolls my grandma seemed to effortlessly make daily every time we'd visit her in Missouri.

I'm not a bread baker, although my sister creates some amazing cinnamon bread made in a bread machine. Not quite the same as doing it by hand.
