No pictures to post, I haven't figured out how to do that yet. But at any rate, let's start chatting about food in August - or anything else that suits you.

Continuing hot here and last evening we had a good dinner. Fixed a great spiral ham, covered yummy sauce. mashed potatoes and sweet corn. I usually have a green veggie of some kind but just felt like corn. It was good. Also some ww roles. Nothing wrong with that.

Went to KMart in Redlands yesterday to see if I could find a radio with a good weather band to use either by plug in OR battery. So disappointed in that store,it looks like it will close soon. Cluttered, shelves sparsely stocked and I had to spend a lot of time just trying to find a person to answer questions. She was super nice but super uninformed. Obviously knew nothing about the items. They had lots of cashiers however and none real busy. Pretty bad. Needless to say I walked out empty handed. Went to Radio Shack - should have gone there in the first place - and they knew exactly what I was talking about and they had exactly what I was talking about. During the very bad storm we had on Friday - and no electricity for many many yours, I decided to try and use the radio that was my Mother's. She had a huge thing but sorry to say it would not work. She got hers at Radio Shack so like I said I should have just gone there in the first place. She swore by that store - and she was right.

Soushi, where are you? Hope all is well. Soushi usually starts this thread but I jumped in this time.

Hope all stop by and we love recipes and all that good stuff. Have a great day everyone!!!!

boy those steaks, baked taters and tomatoes sound good. I fear we aren't going to have many good tomatoes here. Rain wiped a lot out. I think Soushi is battling the new 10 version on her computer. I see her posting on FB but I hope she gets back in the Kitchen soon. I, myself, stay out of it and today was no exception. Went to Red a Lobster. Should have cooked.

Good morning everyone. Preds, always love your greetings. Hi Spix - more storms huh? We'l;l take a couple off your hands.

Last night was primarily left overs. I.e. mashed taters, ham and added some fried cabbage. Rarely toss cabbage in a meal as I usually eat it as a stand alone with sliced tomatoes or fresh cukes in vinegar but the cabbage was beginning to sag a bit and did not want to lose it. LOL. It was very good. Had the kids clean up afterwards - my goodness one would think the world was coming to an end. Did call Davey's Dad and asked him to spend some time talking to his son - Davey does listen to his Dad - about his nasty behavior and potty mouth about having to do anything. His Dad was livid and said he most definitely would.

Kids in San Bernardino are back in school - way too early as our weather is so terribly hot. Seems each year they start a bit earlier. Our schools start next week - still too early.

What for dinner tonight - do not have a clue. I know I do not feel like standing in front of a stove. May go and load up on some more frozen dinners as everyone - except me - loves those things. Reminds me when we were kids pot pies were the big thing. Being a military family, Dad got paid once a month. We had a freezer and at the first of the month bought a lot of pot pies and the last week of the month, we ate them a lot. Still do not like them. LOL. We also use to buy extra milk and freeze that. Of course trhere were other things but these were the biggies, milk and pot pies.

Hope all have a great day!!

Our great grand just ran around. They have her in a class where she is the youngest and they play for an hour. Too long for her. She needs to be one of the oldest in the class. Afterwards we went to Cracker Barrel.

Weather is very pleasant here this morning. Very cool. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.

Jasicafram, I too -like Betty - hope you have great luck with Windows 10. I have gotten the ready to install notice but am afraid to try it. My pc is not behaving well - and I am nervous about it. I have windows 7 and detest it so what can I say. Wish I still had the XP version, loved it.

Did not fix a regular meal yesterday - had tons of food in the fridge and easy fix foods so everyone was very happy that they could eat junk stuff if they so wished. LOL. Bought some frozen potstickers at Sam's and I have never fixed them. Am debating on fixing them for dinner tonight - my brother is in expert in those things will be contacted - I hope - to get any tips he may have. He LOVES them and often fixes his own - well I am not ready to do that.

Miserable last night - nothing stirred until about 4 this morning . I was so miserable and actually felt a tad sick due to the stuffy air although I had all the ceiling fans going and windows open - nothing helped. I think it was the worst night we have had this summer - really miserable.

Went to the laundromat and spent a fortune late afternoon yesterday - had quilts, towels, sheets, things like that. Can no longer wash them at home due to the mandatory cut back of water so I spent $332 at the laundromat to save at home. Huh?????? Something really wrong in all of this as far as I am concerned. And may I add, the laundromat has gotten so raunchy and tacky - only some air blowing through the AC vents - no cooling at all. They also use to have the HUGE windows covered with the sun blocking screens as they face the West and that is the most miserable sun. That has all been removed. Use to be a nice laundromat but not any more. Just makes me wonder about some business people. Well I suppose they figure people will still come there so they do not have to clean or fix it up. Just gross.

Betty we do not have Cracker Barrels out here - when I went to visit Jody I sure enjoyed visiting it several times - once Shirley was with us - liked it a lot.

Hope all stay cool and have a great day. Also hope everyone is eating well!!

$300 at the laundromat? Wow. Many of the laundromats around here are tacky too. And if I use one i always feel I need to keep an eye on my stuff so someone doesn't decide to take it home.

Where did everyone go? It's getting downright chilly here this evening. Feels good. The State Fair starts soon and this year the kids will be back in school. Doesn't seem possible. Teachers go in for a full day tomorrow and in service training Monday. Kids go on Tuesday. Bus service was cut so much confusion on how the kids are getting to school. In my Grandsins home they are both teachers. One starts ai 6am and the other one starts at 8. It's going to get a little hairy for after school transportation. No cooking here tonight. We went to last soccer practice of summer. Perfect weather for it. Then seven of us went to nearby restaurant.

Do not have a clue where everyone is Betty but I do know that even I cannot stand these boards. So difficult to use and they sign you off in minutes if you are not using them and you have to go thru the sign in fiasco yet AGAIN and AGAIN.

Fixed some potstickers last night - bought them at Sam's and they are really very good. Easy and good to the taste - can't do any better.

We had 10 drops of rain yesterday - so disappointed we did not have more as I was hoping we would have a real boomer for the third week in a row - not to happen. Now it is super muggy - the humidity is now 85 per cent - Yuck for sure.

Dinner tonight? As usual I do not have a clue!!!! Come on people, it is getting really lonely here. Soushi? we miss you!!!
