I quit boiling water for tea. I put cold water and tea bags in a big mason jar and put it in the fridge. If I want hot tea-I just pour some in a mug and nuke it.

Good to know I'm not the only one to ruin a pot. Yes, the microwave is my friend when boiling water for my tea.

I have an electric 1.2L kettle that I fill up and boil the water in a few minutes, then put the bags in the tupperware pitcher and pour the water over. I put the lid on for it to steep until it is nice and dark, then remove and squeeze the bags and I'm done! I don't heat up the house or burn up a pot since the kettle has an auto off.
