How to undo two ceramic bowls stuck together?

My mother asked me if I would ask the kitchen board ladies this. She has 2 bowls stuck together and can't get them apart. She would like to know how to fix this without breaking them? They must be awfully stuck since she asked me to post about this issue. Lol.

Put ice and water in the top one, it should hopefully shrink a little and allow it to be pulled apart of the lower bowl.

I agree with ice in the top and maybe set in the sink with warm water for the bottom. Not hot.

I found this:

Place ice, salt and water in the top bowl. Place all into a sink of hot water. The ice will shrink the top / inner bowl. The hot water will expand the bottom one.

I had this happen recently. I tried all mentioned here and MORE. What worked was my husband using WD-40 and spraying it down between the bowls as much as possible and he was finally able to get some movement and they came apart. Hope this helps you too.

I had that problem with two round Lock-n-Lock bowls. I thought I was going to have to trash them, but the ice thing finally worked.

Since cold will cause the molecules in the top bowl to contract, try putting ice in it. Good luck.
