I am taking a cheesecake to our family Thanksgiving Dinner. This is my first time making one, so I'm not sure what to put it on. I will be baking it in a springform pan. Do I just take the bottom part with the cheesecake on it and put it on a cake platter? I don't own a cake stand with a dome and I was hoping to not have to buy something that I won't use much.

TIA!

How large is it? And are there multiple layers? How long of a drive do you have to transport it? I think no matter what, you're going to want to invest in some cake bases and simple cake supports just to ensure it doesn't slip n slide. Be sure to keep it chilled, and preferably transported in a cooler since you don't want it to get to room temperature.

Done. That's how I store mine in the fridge even. Just remove the ring, slice a piece and put it back on. It's not a big deal. You don't need cake supports or special bases. We are talking about a cheesecake not a layer cake.
