Anyone use Paula's Choice Resist Daily moisturizer with SPF 25 or Super light Daily Defense spf 30?

I like trying new facial sunscreens and am about out of my current one. Has anyone tried these? I think the Super light has a tint so I was wondering if it is a light tint, one that someone who is fair to light can wear. I was also wondering if the Resist SPF is very greasy.

The Resist daily moisturizer SPF 25 is in my rotation along with two other products. I don't find it to be greasy but it is not light. I tend to slather on quite a bit to ensure sun protection, though.

Yeah, maybe so. I don't think I'd do it. Also, wouldn't the oil reduce the efficacy of the sun protection? I don't think you'd really need the oil. It's pretty moisturizing stuff.

I use the Resist during the winter. I am not currently using it right now because I am finishing up another one. I have used several of her moisturizers and I really like them all. I hate products with fragrances in them and I don't have to worry about that with her.

Bella, one of the oils I use, Yangu, actually has a natural sun protection in it so it can help boost your SPF. I've actually never heard about oils possibly interfering with the efficacy of SPF, in fact the opposite. Even Josie's SPF contains argan oil and other SPFs I've used had various oils in them as well. I've been using oils for some years now and always use SPF and haven't had any issues with sunburns or anything, even out all day in the sun. I may just get a sample of this to try because I don't want to give up my oils so I will need to make sure it isn't too much.

HD - absolutely no science in my response. My initial thought was, well, I'm not sure. What can I say, guess it's getting late. What is yangu oil? That's a new one for me. Are there benefits other than the SPF?

I've used them both, and I really like them. They are physical sunscreens, so you can use the around your eyes and they won't cause stinging. Even though my skin is a little on the dry side, I like the Super Light SPF 30 the best. It feels soothing on my skin. The tint is very subtle - its not something that gives coverage; it pretty much disappears. If you've ever used Clinique City Block, it's a lot like that. Nicole in Portland

Bella, I appreciate your thoughts though! And yes, it does have other benefits- high in antioxidants and essential fatty acids (palmitic, oleic and linoleic) along with the inherent UV protection. I believe it is also called Cape Chesnut. I use it in my oil cocktail for daytime mainly for the extra UV protection (I don't rely on it for my sole protection).

oh good, I am glad to hear that your skin is kind of dry but you still use and like the Super light- I was wondering if it would be okay for drier skins because it says for combo to oily skin and was concerned it might be too dry or drying. Thanks! I am at least going to get a sample of this one for sure.

HD, I really like both but prefer the Light w/ SPF 30. I am fair and the tint is fine. My skin is dry right now so I either use an oil or another moisturizer underneath. My skin is acne prone and sensitive and I have had no problems at all. In fact most of my routine is Paulas Choice and my skin is looking better than ever!!!

Thanks J-Lou! I think I am going to go ahead and get the Super light one then along with my mom's Brightening treatment since I need $50 worth to get free shipping. I know their return policy is excellent if I have any issues but I usually don't have issues with her products. Then I can also get a few of the Resist SPF25 moisturizer to try out too.

HD, I use the one you've decided to purchase. I really like it, and the tint is so very slight, at least on me, although I like that if I want, I can just put this moisturizer/sunscreen on and run out the door without foundation.

I remember when I first started with Paula's Choice that I tried a sample of the other Resist sunscreen. I think I wasn't wild about it.

I should mention that this new one is not super moisturizing. That's fine with me for the daytime.

ETA: The best thing about this mineral formula is that because of the tiny, tiny bit of tint, there is absolutely NO Caspar the Ghost scary white look.

I've been using the Skin Recovery spf 30 and really like it. It is formulated for dry to very dry skin and I don't find it greasy it all. It has a nice light cucumber type scent-reminds me of EL Daywear. I would say that my skin is normal to dry and am finding her Skin Recovery line not always quite hydrating enough. I just switched to her Moisture Boost cleanser (the Recovery was great but a bit too drying) and LOVE it. I'm finding that she has excellent products and if you don't quite love what you buy don't give up on the line-try another formula as it might work better for your skin type.

I've got a couple of her other products on my wish list but am waiting for another sale/deal.

I use the Resist Super Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 every day and would highly recommend it. The slight color blends into my light skin tone and it doesn't cause any issues as far as sensitivity. I wear it over an oil free moisturizer (I do not use any foundation over it).

I use the Resist Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30. It's a fairly new product.

Here is the difference between mine and the Hydralight, according to the site:

How is RESIST Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 different from Hydralight Shine-Free Daily Mineral SPF 30?

Both use mineral actives for gentle broad-spectrum protection, and both are excellent for combination to oily skin. The RESIST Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 uses only zinc oxide while Hydralight Shine-Free Daily Mineral SPF 30 uses a blend of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.

The RESIST Super-Light contains a slight tint to counteract the white cast inherent in mineral sunscreens (it doesn’t provide coverage and nearly vanishes after a few minutes on skin). The tint is ultra-sheer, and is perfect for any skin tone.
