Simple sunscreen

All I want is a plain, mineral sunscreen. I already have my fave moisturizer so I don't need one that's chock full of moisture or glow, etc. Just a simple product that will let me put it on over my moisturizer. Is there such an animal and thank you very much.

That "Vacation" one looks interesting...first I ever heard of that brand. I've been using "Innis Free Daily UV Defense" for the past 3 years, I get it at Sephora. Lightweight, aborbs immediately, non-greasy, no white cast, no weird smell. I have a used 33% SPF regularly. They have them higher too, and I think next time I might get a higher SPF to have on hand also, especially for those really hot summer days.

I have 2 that I swear by and both work very well over moisturizer and under makeup:

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen

d'Alba Piedmont Waterfull Sunscreen

Both have 50spf and are reasonably priced.

Dr. Denise has foundation that has sunscreen in it.

One less thing to buy.

If I have a foundation that doesn't have it in it.

I'll use Shisedo.

Got car windows tinted too.

The Vacation brand looks interesting, but what kills it for me is that it's scented. Too bad.

@cindyNC No, it has no fragrance. See first pic posted with description. It is fragrance free. They do have also the origional scent which is the one I use, I love the smell, but it's not their mineral sunscreen, as this one is. It's a great sunscreen, clean, and cruelty free. I love it, and use it on my face and neck daily.

Trader Joes has a great collection of sun screen products. We use the spray or cream in yellow colored tube for body. I also use/like the mineral SPF facial product. Good quality, low pricing

I tried that TJ's sunscreen a while back. I liked the higher SPF and the low price. But on me it left a slight white cast. My skin tone is not fair or medium but slightly more naturally tan in color. Most mineral ss give me a white cast unfortunately.

@SilleeMee After trying many different spf's and combination of products, I have a good process that is effective and not too costly. But I still look at new products and sometimes test them.

I typically wear a tinted cream (Complexion Rescue) or foundation over the TJ's on face. And touchup with the BareMinerals SPF powder so I don't see any white cast. I also use the Beekman tinted SPF primer instead of the TJ in rotation.

I love using the Dr D tinted body corrector over the TJ product for neck and décolleté. It gives such a beautiful finish

Has anyone tried this? it has a higher SPF of 50. Does it leave a white cast? Says no white cast but I've had no luck with that. I need more than just SPF 30.

Whomever comes up with a fabulous mineral SPF 50+ with zero white cast, doesn't pill, wears well under any makeup...I will bow down to. Until then, keep searching for the HG.

What makes sunscreen reef safe?

Reef safe sunscreens are mineral-based and avoid harmful chemicals that can leach into the water, affecting marine life, including coral reefs. Oxybenzone and octinoxate are the main ingredients you want to avoid, but you should also look for mineral-based sunscreens that use non-nano zinc or non-nano titanium (too small, or nano, and the particles can still be harmful). You should also avoid ingredients including homosalate, 4-methylbenzylidene camphor, parabens, triclosan, and para-aminobenzoic acid.

Blue Lizard is great the adult grands use it, my great grand uses baby version. I like Some of the Suoer Goop products. Also, for commercial brands in Drug stores, Banana Boat and coppertone make a clean version and BB makes a mineral

I live far from any ocean so the chemical ss I use won't be harming any coral reefs there.

The most common problem with any kind of sunscreen is that most people do not apply enough to get the SPF protection stated on the bottle. ONE-HALF TEASPOON is needed to cover the face and neck. When I apply that amount it feels like I've applied a lot and too much but that's the right way to do it if I want proper sun protection. Try doing that using a SPF foundation or a tinted SPF moisturizer. It doesn't feel or look good but it's the right way.
