Make-up mistakes

Yesterday I neatly applied one eyebrow with a lip liner pencil. Real cute! A red eyebrow!

Have you made any mistakes in applying make-up?

Well I used an eyeliner on my brows by accident but it didn't look too bad lol

Once I was putting on my eye makeup and got distracted by something. Finished dressing, ran out to the car and went to adjust the rear view mirror and HORRORS! I only had makeup on one eye! Scared myself! Thank goodness I noticed!

Oh my yes, I often would "think" my MU looked great in my bathroom, but once outside discovered it was too dark, wrong color etc. Also have made the mistake of not wearing waterproof liner in the summer and ended up with crazy raccoon eyes.

I recently used my dark black mascara on my eyebrow thinking it was my clear brow gel. Not a good look on me since my brows are so blonde you can't even see them.

Oh the worst thing I ever did was years ago when green concealers were all the rage for pimples...I had one on the side of my nose so I dotted on the green stuff and put my foundation on and went to work.

2 hours later I went to the restroom and when I looked in the mirror, one side of my nose was green! Like WickedWitch, green LOL I had forgotten to blend it, so it was totally obvious right through my sheer foundation...Oh so green!

I was soooo mad nobody had told me until I realized that my co-worker was only on my left side and the green was on my right--she would never have seen it unless we were having a face-to-face conversation, which we weren't... OMG I was sooo embarassed though lol

At a family holiday gathering, I thought I had a clear lip balm in my pocket but instead had a tinted one in more reddish color. My lips were dry so I kept reaching in my pocket and adding another coat not caring if I went outside the lipline since I thought it was clear.

This isn't exactly a makeup blunder but another time way back I was in a hurry and grabbed furniture polish instead of hairspray.

Not that one....LOL But, twice in the same week, I stood in front of my bathroom mirror and applied my IT Bye Bye under eye concealor all over my face. Like it was makeup. I love the stuff as a concealor for small areas, like under eye and the occasional blemish or red spot. But it's too heavy for all over my face. I can see getting distracted and doing it once, but twice in the same week was a bit much. Plus I wasted a lot of product. It isn't makeup but same idea. Once I was in hurry and I intended to wash my hair and pull it up into a ponytail. The washing went ok but instead of conditioner, I put MORE shampoo on my hair and stood in the shower confused because the "conditioner" was so sudsy, It took me a while to figure out what I did. So I rinsed my hair out and blanked out and made the exact same mistake again! More shampoo. On the third try, I got it right. My hair was very, very clean....and I was very, very late for work.

These are cracking me up. I used Bye Bye undereye twice this week as eye primer. Both are in black tubes. Just a note--Bye Bye undereye doesn't work well as a primer

I have gone out and about with one eye made up, and the other not. That was a really bad day.

Not makeup, but I picked up my daughter at school this week with my shirt on inside out. I have to walk up and speak to the teacher, seeing all of the other parents. Shirt. Inside Out.

I've decided I should look in the mirror before I leave the house.

Not an application mistake ... but. In my twenties went to a very fancy Christmas party. Everyone was very formally dressed. Stood very near the punchbowl full of Whiskey Sours (I love whiskey sours). On one side of the room the punch was dyed green - the other side red. I was standing near the green one. Bathroom trip - dear goodness: my lips, around my lips in a few places, tongue and edges of my teeth were bright green. I've never been so embarrassed. Could not leave fast enough.

These stories are so darn funny! The sad thing is that most of my mistakes I did on PURPOSE thinking, well who knows what the heck I was thinking! I used to have such a hard time finding the right foundation color, and I would always end up too dark, of course I would have the lovely dark line. I looked so stupid! In high school I went blush shopping and picked out a lovely soft peach shade, when I went to school a girl asked me why I would be wearing orange blush! The worst part was that she was right, it looked awful....peach is not for me.

More recently I made another embarrassing MU mistake. I had heard that one should line the water line in a navy liner to make the whites of the eyes look brighter....well I decided to give it a whirl, it traveled and ended up all around my eyes, I have blue eyes, so it was a bad idea all the way around, my daughter noticed and asked me if I was actually trying to wear blue eye liner. UGH!

I have worn two different shoes to a formal occasion. That will teach me to dress in a distracted state. In my defense, I did have a new baby at home.

I have mistakenly applied Mally's Brow gel in the black tube UNDER my eye, thinking it was my Smashbox concealer in a black tube.

But this is the worst. I once (ok, lots of times)had to speak in front of a large group of teenagers and one came up to ask a question and when I looked up, she GASPED. "What? What! WHAT!!!???" I asked in a panic. And she never did answer. The worst part is that I grabbed a mirror, asked a friend, grabbed a mirror, asked another friend...nothing. WHAT WAS SHE GASPING ABOUT????

My niece at about 5 years old asked me why my face and neck were 2 different colors. Really the wrong foundation, which I had tried on in the department store before we left to visit them on vacation. Of course it was all I packed! When we got home from the zoo, her mom and I went shopping!

Back when I always wore a lipliner (don't so much anymore) I accidently lined my lips with a black eyeliner. Imagine my horror when I looked into the car mirror..YIKES!! I stared at my self and said ""What the ....! LOL What makes it even funnier was a few months before I had a friend that told me she did that and I thought how in the heck could you not notice when you are applying it...well it happens..hahaha Thank goodness I noticed it before going out into public. Can imagine the stares I would have gotten.

YES! but it wasn't my mistake. I tryed LG's eyebrow pen when it first came out & it looked fine when I applied it & looking in my car mirror driving to the Mall. While walking thru the mall some people were looking at me weird & giggling. I had to go the bathroom & to my Horror! where I applied the pen, the color turned bright BLUE LOL!!!!

I can't begin to say how many times I've hurriedly applied my makeup and gotten to my destination without mascara and lipstick. I once had only applied my lip liner and no lipstick, I looked ridiculous!

One day I did full eye makeup for day, deepened crease and outer v, slightly smudgy eye pencil liner--I forgot mascara. All day I looked like I had deepset tiny eyes. Winning look.

I was in the hospital recovering from a cervical fusion surgery. I had those lovely white hose on that everyone who has surgery gets. Mine had slits in them, due to the OR team having to monitor extremities.

After surgery, I complained of dry lips. My DH went to the gift shop and got me lip balm. It was peppermint and the balm was red. I had no idea that it would go on red. Well, I'd been slathering it on my lips without a mirror to aid in application. I was totally stunned when I got up to use the restroom.

Between the ripped white hose and the all over the place red balm, I looked like a drunken h00 ker who was workin the street way past her prime.
