As I watch Perlier, Elemins, PTR, Dr D,etc, they all clame so much but does any one over 70 see good results from anything? They are expensive. Not to mention particular vendors but some don't represent their product or claims well.

@matty liz I was thinking the other day when i saw Peter Thomas Roth on selling his kincare he looks awful. I can not stsnd to watch skip and his mother selling perlier. Afrer all their years in the business unless they have changed recenly, they continue to say flavors instead of scent or fragrance. Flavors denote taste not smell. You would think they would do better.

I feel the same. I used the PTR serum awhile back and noticed nothing different. Same with other products.Same fine lines, under eye discoloration, etc.

It depends on the results you are looking for. They all moisturize okay; I like some better than others. This is where I might try different lines.

Then again, you have to have reasonable expectations, especially if one has years of neglect, or if your diet isn't pristine, and then there is the environment...

Over the years my best results have come from glycolic acid, retinol (not PTR's) & topical vitamin C.

I just posted the other day that a poster her gave 2 great inexpensive recommendations that really worked and quickly. My expectations were met and at 81 I am very happy. Both products were at Trader Joe's and the bill was under #11 total.

Nails & cuticles: Balm ( tin ) all over use. Shea butter main

Ingredient.Cuticles & nails repaired.

Face & Under eyes: 100% pure Argan Oil with Vitamin E.

Looked better and concealer went

on smoother under eyes.

I have tried a lot of the Perlier products and while I like some, I find Lancome and Elemis give me the best resullts overall. I'm sure results may vary though.

When they show before and after pictures I have to wonder who are these gals that get these results, never happened to me. Yes, some products make my skin feel more moisturized, but I certainly don't get the promised results. I've come to the realization that aging is going to happen no matter what products we use and just accept that fact and do our best.

@Biftu I have noticed that all the before and after photos have different lighting. Lighting can make a HUGE difference in how a person looks. So the the people in the after photos probably look just like the before photos.

@matty liz Over 70 and the only results I see is from long time (40 yrs.) of good skincare.

IMHO I think if you begin a product with claims of lifting, firming, line/wrinkle removing at any age you'll be disappointed. Lotions and creams can't do that. Derms recommend only 3 tried and true anti-aging products: moisturizer, Retin A and sunscreen rain or shine.

I believe that if you have massive money and massive time, you can devote yourself to seeing multiple dermatologists and try expensive, cutting edge treatments and have surgical procedures and......eventually you'll look a little younger.....like some actors and famous people do. But, really.... I prefer to put my energy to more rewarding activities. Besides, it's amazing what inner beauty and a good smile can do to produce an attribution of beauty from others....that is truly sincere. Life is short. Making looking younger your single highest passion seems like a waste of time and, frankly, not a great value. Simply taking care of yourself and taking reasonable steps to look good seems like a better approach to me.

When you get older skincare should include mostly hydration products. Without that part most of the other things that you might do for your skin might not be as effective. Hydration and a healthy skin barrier makes all the difference no matter what.

I use products for preventative measures rather than expecting any dramatic changes. I used the PTR retinol for close to 20 years on my face and body. I have no dark spots at all and I'll be 73 the end of this month. I am a former sun worshiper. I truly believe the retinol helped. It has also allowed me to advance to retinaldehyde and trentinoin with no issues at all. Depending on your expectations, for me it is a wonderful product.

Using PTR retinol for years, Dr Denese anti wrinkle pads, tatcha under eye, oil of Olay serum. I will be 74 this Jan. Very few wrinkles, black spots like crazy. I

NEVER leave house without spf 50+.

Starting early and staying consistent makes all the difference in prevention. If one doesn't start until they're 70, I don't think they're suddenly going to shave 10, 15, or 20 years off their appearance.

I have said this a gazillion times already but repeating, I have been taking care if my skin for a long time and it shows when comparing my complexion to my siblings when they were my age.

Even when you're old, still need to wear sunscreen to help preserve your old skin from getting to look like older skin too soon. Preservation is the key to help your skin stay healthy.

I dont buy skin care thinking they work miracles, just the idea that it is good to help maintain what you have. Preventative maintenace.

@Desertdi I briefly watched Skip and Amanda last night and was stunned at Amanda's appearance.

She looks like she had "cheek implants" and the crease beneath her inflated cheeks defined the "plumping".

Maybe it was the studio lights and when she's out of the studio her face looks more "natural"???

My "choice" was between a face lift and a car. (I spent it on the car.)
