Neutrogena makeup wipes are being recalled due to possible bacterial contamination. Specific wipes may contain the bacteria Pluralibacter gergoviae or Bacillus cereus, which can cause infections, especially in individuals with weakened immune systems.

I use Equate (Walmart brand) Exfoliating Towellettes in the shower or at my sink with Cerave or Cetaphil cleanser, so I dont mess up washcloths with makeup removal. I reuse them 2-3 times. Works great.

Yikes! Agree with @monicakm ....WHAT NEXT?! for heaven's sake. I use these every night...sigh....I'll have to check my lot number.

I can go search for an article on this....did they say what the problem with them was?

Wow - what next is right. I use them to remove eye makeup then follow with cleanser.

@amyb A Google search notes Bacterial Contamination.

Also, the states affected were Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas.

I use these to wipe down my feet, before going to bed, after wearing sandals or going barefoot during the day. They are garbage for taking off make up, IMO---usually have to do a double cleanse if I use them--

@monicakm I use Beekman wipes to remove makeup.

I also use Beekman wipes, as well as Purity wipes. I've never had a problem with either brand.

I used to use Neutrogena years ago.

I have a stack of baby wash cloths, the cotton ones that look a little wrinkled. I also use Perlier cleanser with them. All makeup gone and I just wash and reuse the cotton. No wipes for me. Clean one everyday.

I don't use make-up wipes to remove make-up, but I do use them to gently wipe my make-up brushes after using them, so that on my "deep" cleaning day, there not as much left-over make-up and oil, etc. in my brushes. I use the Kirkland brand make-up wipes

As far as cleansing my face, I'm a double-cleanser.

I like to have makeup wipes around for various uses like other posters mentioned. I them don't use everyday or rely on them entirely. I am gentle when using on my face. I like either Burt's Bees or the Korres wipes.
