Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Liquid Foundation

I keep reading articles about how great this is, and how many celebrities use it.

I did try it about 10 years ago, and I really liked it. But I was traveling and took it with me. I dropped the glass bottle on the bathroom counter in the motel and that was that. Then I couldn't remember my shade. I bought it at NM a long way from where I live, so I couldn't run out and get it replaced.

Time went on, and I found other products I liked.

Do any of you use this? What do you think?

I am like you Beach Mom. I tried it several years ago, and really liked it a lot. Used it all up and never re-purchased- would actually like to try it again and I notice some places sell a mini size, so that might be the way to go.

I remember really liking the finish of this foundation!

It is a really nice foundation. Beautiful finish. I wear it sometimes but the color match for me isn't exactly what I like so I do not use it often. If you can get your color it is worth a try. I think Sephora sells a small size which you can always return.

Yes @beach-mom I too used it 10 years ago and it is of excellent quality and goes on wonderfully. However, I do not use foundation meaning liquid anymore but highly recommend if you get the correct shade. 5 stars.

I TRIED IT NOT THAT LONG AGO, beach-mom.

IT WAS A NICE FOUNDATION, BUT DID NOT THINK IT WAS THE BEST EVER, AS THE CELEBRITIES AND EVERYONE SPEAKS OF.

BUT WE ALL LIKE WHAT WORKS BEST FOR OUR COMPLEXION.

I KNOW IT COMES IN 2 SIZES AT SEPHORA.

THE SMALL ONE IS $48 AND THE NORMAL SIZE ONE IS $69.

HOPE YOU LIKE IT IF YOU DECIDE TO TRY IT AGAIN!

It is my numero uno, most favorite of all my favorites, foundation. I try to talk myself into loving others just as much, but who am I kidding? Armani blows them all away! The finish is flawless, the color match is more spot on than anything I have ever tried and it is long-wearing. I recently started using the concealer, too and love it just as much. I apply the foundation with a round flat foundation brush (BK Beauty 106) and it's simply perfection. I can't find ONE SINGLE BAD thing to say about it. I don't even care anymore that it is expensive. It is worth EVERY DIME!

@beach-mom Yes, I've tried it and love it! I also tried many other foundations and they're not even close to this one. It's pricey but worth it.

I alternate between Armani Luminous Silk 3.75, a pink undertone, and Nars Mont Blanc, a neutral undertone. The Armani is a bit more expensive, but I think it is a better match for my skin. I guess the point is moot since it appears that Nars Sheer Glow has been discontinued, so when it's gone, it's gone. I don't like the Nars Light Reflecting foundation that has replaced Sheer Glow.

So few brands have Neutral or Pink undertones.

I apply with an iT Airbrush brush which is a bit domed, and then pat it with a very slightly dampened beauty blender.

I want to be carefully matched, and I think an Armani counter is the best place to do that. Unfortunately we don't have one very close. So I will get to one, but I don't know when.

Went to Sephora today to check out the Armani foundation. Got some help and figured out my shade is 4.25 Light Peach. Macys does not have my shade so can't take advantage of their sale. So being the impatient person that I am, will I be able to wait until the Sephora VIB sale to see if the Armani foundation will be part of the sale or will I cave before the sale? Hmmmm.....

Also checked out the new Natasha Denona Sculpt and Tone eyeshadow palette in Soft. Oh my, this palette has my name written all over it. Tried swatches of some of the shades. It's a pretty palette. Not sure it's worth the hefty price tag though.

So ended up leaving with nothing but at least I know the shade I need in the foundation if I decide to get it.

THEY DID NOT HAVE THE LARGER SIZE IN MY COLOR, IN STOCK, SO I ORDERED IT FROM MACYS, AND GOT 15% OFF!

THEY GAVE ME A NICE LITTLE PLASTIC CONTAINER OF MY SHADE AT SEPHORA, SO I CAN WEAR IT UNTIL I GET IT.

So, now I'm curious. Those of you who got color-matched in-person, how does that compare to Sephora's online color matching? I've never had much luck with that. When I was only wearing Nars Mont Blanc, I often got that there was no match in any foundation I was looking at. I've also read that their on-line color matcher was not reliable.

BTW, I wear 3.5 in the Armani which apparently has pink undertones. The Nars Mont Blanc is Neutral.

I GOT SHADE 2 JudyL and Icegoddess.

NOT TOO YELLOW OR PINK AND A BIT LIGHTER THAN THE SHADE I ORIGINALLY TRIED, WHICH WAS 1.5, WHICH WAS TO BE NEUTRAL.

WOULD NOT HAVE PICKED IT FROM THE COLOR DESCRIPTION, BUT WHEN I PUT IT ON, IT WAS AMAZING!!!

@Icegoddess - Don't think the Sephora online color match is very accruate and the SA today agreed with me. She said she often has to adjust her shades from what the online match says. Have had other Sephora SAs say that too. When I tried the Haus Labs foundation, the Sephora online color match was off. Today Sephora had me at 4.5 Light Neutral and in the sunlight it was too pink and not a good match. Macy's online color match had me at 4.25 Light Peach and it was a good match.

Well @weez1987 my resolve didn't last long. Just ordered online from Sephora the Armani foundation. I really want to try it and don't want to wait until the sale. It should be here by Tuesday.
