May retry Isomers

In my 60's, post surgical menopause @ 50 yrs, , so skin is dry

concerns:

EYE-

hollowness under the eye

sometimes puffiness under the eye

skin could be higher and firmer above the upper eyelid, above the crease,

Face-

loss of some plumpness in what used to be great cheeks

smile lines in the cheek are more pronounced

vertical wrinkles above and below the lips

I don't know if the few products available on HSN are worth getting or wait to see if there's something better in the future.

I have Dr. D's hydroshield serum, Dream Cream, and pads, like all 3.

Wondering between the 4 lines, also have Tatcha, wondering which would be the best bet?

I find Dr. Denese, Manuela, and Dimitri to be skin educators. I watch even if I don't purchase.

I have Sunday Riley, haven't used it for a while, no specific reason other than wanting to use Dr. D and tatcha more.

This is a really tough one to answer and I hope you receive other replies. Very glad you posted this question. There will most likely be new interest in Isomers now that it has premiered on HSN after decades on another network. I have been a decades long user. Manuela has been my skin care educator and guru and I barely strayed from her product line. Currently, the selection on HSN is limited, the sizes are smaller, the prices are higher and I don't think anything that was presented is anything to write home about. As a person who is in her 60's and tried and used probably 90% of her line religiously, I aged anyway. You will still hear from some loyal, die hard fans who say they aged backwards. Temper your expectations at our age. In the past year I started straying a bit. I don't think skin care is going to reverse anything. I am also hollow, have bags, loss of volume in skin, lip lines and even seeing the dreaded cross hatching. I love the skin education but HSN will not allow her to make some of the claims she previously did, which is a good thing IMHO. Everyone is there to sell, sell, sell. Can anything really address, reverse the things effecting both of our skin situations in our 60's? I think certain things make the skin look better Lately I have been focusing on Vitamin C for overall brightening using the C form that Sunday Rilley uses (though I am using a different brand for now.) THD is the form of C. I am also trying some other things that provide really good moisture. Long story short, I would hold off on anything you saw yesterday. Here is the exception. The one product, my all time favorite of Isomers has had 2 recent name changes. It used to be called R Pur, then it changed to Phytoestrogen and on HSN it is called NextGen Youth. In my opinion that is Isomers very best serum. In the past it was at least double in size and sometimes quadruple. It is different than most products currently on the market. Keep us posted if you decide to try anything and what you think.

@acatgirl That was a really interesting post. I feel the same way except I didn't use her products exclusively. If you think you've still aged using her products, why do you still like the RPur? (just curious).

@skittles, I also hope more people can chime in on this. I do use Isomers Matrixyl -4. Honestly I think I use it to hold off wrinkles etc. As a teen I had oily skin. My face looked like an oil slick on some days. As an adult I have no fine lines or wrinkles and I'm 56. Maybe good genes has a play also. Me personally, I found that people that I know that skin is already showing a lot of wrinkles and sun damage are looking for a miracle with these over the counter products. And are disappointed when they don't get the results they are looking for. I also thinks it's a shame how the skin care industries plays on these people's emotions with false claims. So I can't say if Matrixyl is really helping but I do like how my skin looks if that makes sense. Hopefully more people can respond.

Nothing OTC will get rid of wrinkles or fill in lost volume. You can only improve 'the look of' reduced wrinkles and lost volume temporarily. The best thing to do is start using a retinoid such as retinol or Rx Retin-A and use sunscreen to help preserve what you have now. It's easier to prevent rather than have to repair. The sun is responsible for 90% of aging skin issues. It's not genetics nor is it the food you eat...it's the sun.

Not what most people want to hear but it's true.

I'm 71 and live in a very dry climate. Isomers did nothing for me. I tried several products and was really disappointed. I've been using Perlier Royal Elixir eye and face serums for almost a year now. Got both on sale and auto ship. I use their Hydrozone over the top at night and La Roche Posay sunscreen during the day. My skin has a nice glow and is soft and hydrated all day and night. Perhaps, my expectations are lower. I don't expect to reverse aging or see fine lines disappear unless I want plastic surgery. For me, less is more. My routine is very cost effective. I find too many lines are super expensive, and don't do much. Good luck in your decision and I hope you find something that works for you.

I've been using Isomers for at least 20 years. Before that, I used other lines like the Principal Secret, Serious Skin Care and Dr. Denese. I'm happy with how my skin looks for my age. I think part of it is skin care, but I think genetics, climate and diet also play a significant part in how our skin ages.

I was surprised that Manuela didn't offer the glutathiosome serum during the visit. That was always her desert island product.

As others posted, I'm also a fan of the RPur serum. I use it as a bootcamp for a month every 3 months. The other bootcamp product that I love is the accelerated recovery serum. I use it as a standalone product at night every 3 months for a month and it really clarifies my skin.

Hopefully with the approaching holiday season, Manuela will be offering some kits and bonus sizes on HSN. Every year she has a pre-Thanksgiving sale of 30% off on her website. Starting on Black Friday, it goes down to 25%.

@JYWilliams @Linmo I watched a couple of the videos. She looks good for 62. The photo they used for the email promo looks very photoshopped, but in the videos she looks very natural.

I want to try some of the serums, but will wait for the holiday discounts.What looks of interest is the Eye Serum, the Azelaic Acid and the 14 day Bootcamp. Please keep us posted on updates.

I tried so many of these same products 20 years ago on SHQ, none work miracles, at least not for me. I do use and like the eyelash serum, that is a staple for me.

No dissing on my part. I have a lot of respect for Manuela and for all the knowledge that she has shared with her customers about skincare. I'm just disappointed that her products don't work for me.

@skittles2 Thank you for starting this conversation. I use some of the brands you listed. It's a dynamic situation because as we age, our needs change. There is also the seasonal aspect. I prefer some products for the harsher winter season. I have a base of products that I use regularly and use different products from a variety of brands a couple days weekly.

Always interested in new ingredients and products with consideration. You never know if it's something effective until you try it. If it doesn't agree with me or give me the benefits I expect, I move on. They could be highly rated or popular products for others, I won't post negatively as I don't see the value in doing it. I take reviews with a grain of salt as we are all different and some of the reviews suggest the person had unrealistic expectations or didn't give it the proper time to see results. I'm going to try Isomers soon and I have a short list of some other brands that have caught my interest. New Beauty magazine is a good resource for discovering new products and brands. It's online and in print.

I will clarify. The number of bottles I have/had and the thousands and thousands of dollars I spent probably wasn't necessity. The skin doesn't need that many products. Manuela was very convincing and many of us became die hard fans for decases as she was really the first to educate us on ingredients. What I have learned now that I have strayed and with some additional education from social media, the only way to see if a product is working or making a difference is to try it alone. I still think the R Pur (Now called Next Gen Youth, a silly name and oxymoron) is unique in the skin care industry and probably is one of the few products where the claims and the results match. I won't buy it in a small size at a high price though. Good question.

I too have been using "all" of the various Matrixyls that Isomers has sold for 20 plus years. I truly don't know if it's doing anything. It's a very common ingredient now across many skin care lines. Do we need it as a separate serum? I don't know.
