Kitsch shampoo bar

I just orderd the Purple Biotin bar. All of them get good reviews....Anyone use this brand or have a favorite bar shampoo? I am so tired of WEN and Tweaked!!

@SilleeMee Thanks for posting. I've been tempted but am trying other shampoo bars/natural shampoos so have never purchased this brand.

Yes, I got the one for volume. It's rosemary scented. Love it! You only need to rub it on your hair a little bit. Lasts a long time.

It has rice protein in it and my hair doesn't like any kind of shampoo with protein b/c that weighs it down. I can't use it. I have very dense Asian hair which is not porous at all.

I started with Kitsch and it worked fine, but I did find it was a little drying. I decided to try Earthling Co bars and I will NEVER go back to liquid shampoo. I have grey, course, thick, curly hair. This has made it soft, shiny and I have very little hair loss. My DH started using it and he loves it as well. Another advantage is taking it when you travel. No muss, no fuss. It lasts for months and I don't need to shampoo as often. I find I'm not using much for styling. This has saved me tons of money. My stylist has even commented about how much healthier my hair is.

I haven't tried the Kitsch bar, but Beekman had one several years ago that I tried. They warned that it would take a few washings for the hair to acclimate. I didn't like it at all. DH did, though. Honestly, he's not too fussy and takes all my castoffs. LOL

I gave up on WeN ages ago and have been using Tweak'd for six years. Whenever Denis is on HSN lately, though, he keeps dropping not so subtle hints that he is getting closer to retirement. I have a bit of a stockpile in certain things he sells, and I'll use them. Even so, I recently ordered the new Skinn shampoo and conditioner. I'm so happy that I chose auto delivery. I'm liking that system so much that I could abandon Tweak'd shampoo and conditioner. Yes, I really said that. The Skinn products require very little to get the job done. I get great results and can skip two days between washes. That has never happened with WeN or Tweak'd.

My mom got the bars for me. I have long hair way past my braline, its fine in texture but I have a lot of it. My hair was a tangled mess, I lost so much hair trying to get it combed through, I had to jump back in the shower and re-wash with a silkening conditioner.

My mom has short hair and LOVES it, so if you have short hair, you will likely like it. Long hair, I'm not sure... my hair tangles easy and it felt like I washed my hair with a bar of dove soap. I'll never do that again!

The TV commercial for Kitsch shows an older woman with long gray hair and to me that looks like a wig. Not a very good advertising approach to selling shampoo, imo. It turned me off to the brand and seemed deceiving.

@SilleeMee Since gray hair is usually very coarse and hard to manage, maybe that's why they do that. I did notice in the photo you shared it shows other ages and hair colors. Don't understand how you find that deceiving, but to each their own.

@SandGirl As others have said you have to use it more than once. It takes a few washes to remove all the chemical gunk we have in our hair. I hope you will give it another chance.

Kitsch advertises volume and strengthening for hair on your head, not for wigs. Showing a woman with a full wig is deceptive on all levels.

I've been hemming and hawing about ordering Kitsch Bar Soap for my shampoo and conditioner too. The one concern I have is that my hair would cling to the bar - you normally lose some hair as you shampoo - and that would drive me crazy having some hairs stick to the bars.

You'll have to let us know how it works for you. I am in the growing out my gray process. I am about 6 months in. My hair is rather fine, straight, and my last haircut I think the girl cut into it too much so it feels like I don't have much hair on my head.

I was going to start with the rice protein bars and get one for gray hair too if I liked it. Keep us posted.

Not all of the Kitsch Shampoo bas contan rice protein. You must have chosen one that did.

I used my new bar yesterday (the purple one). I also used a pea sized drop of WEN for conditioner and rinsed it out. Came out really nice!! My hair is very soft, not dry feeling at all. 2nd day hair looks great compared to WEN which weighs my hair down. I have thinning S&P chin length hair and usually wash it every other day.

I bought it months ago from Kitsch and just couldn't get into it. Seems like I had to forever get enough from the bar and it never felt like it all distributed through my hair. I have thick, gray hair. I kept it in the mesh bags hanging away from the water and it didn't seem to last long.

Any product that tells me that it will take a few trys to acclimate is a big no for me.

I bought the rosemary and biotin bar and the sample pack. I like the rosemary one a lot, didn't care for any of the four in the sample pack.

I have oily hair, shoulder length, wash every other day, and it cleaned my hair and scalp well and rinsed out nicely. It's not an all-time favorite, but no problems at all.

Probably depends on the water you have in large part.
