Nick Chavez Soft Flocker

For those of you who enjoyed Nick's Soft Flocker, what have you found that equals or surpasses it?

I see that the only place that it can be obtained now is on eBay, which makes me wonder how fresh the product is, since he died some years ago. His website doesn't even have it for sale.

I've tried other brands, but his Soft Flocker is still the best for my hair. What are fans of his SF using now?

I watched YouTube of a gal who has a pixie hairstyle much like mine and she uses Enjoy Dry Wax, so I think I will try that.

Thanks for any input you may be able to give me on this.

i don't use the soft flocker, but i'm still using his great hair spray. i have one more can, to go. I'm sure a new hair spray, will be easier to replace the the flocker.

i've been using Color Wow bombshell volumizer-they have a small travel size-that i'm happy with.

MAYBE WORTH A TRY!!!

@weez1987 Thanks! That is the product that was suggested by an influencer on YouTube. I purchased it from Amazon and it is supposed to arrive today. I'll let you know how it compares with the Flocker.

His website has other products of his, so I am surprised it doesn't sell the Flocker, which usually sold out when he demonstrated it. I found his demonstration of it somewhere online. He did such a good job of showing how to use it.

AMAZON HAS MANY OF HIS PRODUCTS AS DOES HIS WEBSITE, World Traveler.

ACTUALLY HAS IT ONLINE, BUT WHEN YOU TRY TO ADD IT TO YOUR CART, NOTHING HAPPENS.

WHO KNOWS AS IT MAY COME BACK IT STOCK AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE. SOME OF THE REVIEWS FOR IT ON THEIR WEBSITE WERE FROM DEC. 2024, SO NOT ALL THAT LONG AGO.

I don't care for mousse products nor styling creams. What works best for me is the paste like Nick used to have. I even tried WEN hair paste, but don't like it.....formula change?

To me, the Soft Flocker was the best of anything I ever tried, so no mousse or styling creams for me. I'm only looking for suggestions in pastes/wax/pomade, etc. And also, I would like to hear if anyone has purchased the Soft Flocker on eBay; if so, was it any good or is it an old batch?

I did get the Enjoy Dry Wax yesterday. Although my haircut is tomorrow, I couldn't wait and used it after I washed my air this morning. IT IS JUST LIKE Nick's product. Love it!

Even though my hair is not short-short right now, it took so very little product in the hand to get the effect I want in the back of my head where the cowlick is. YAAAY!

The amount I used wasn’t even the size of a pea; I just scraped a little out of the jar with my fingernail and put it in the palms of my hands, rubbed them together. I could hardly see any product on my hands. I put them on my head and ruffled up my hair, back and forth with the product.

I didn’t even use a hairdryer to place the pieces of hair where I wanted them. I took a small round brush and use it to shape the style I want. AND…..I didn’t need any hairspray! Perfect!

Of course, I will be able to get the final review after having my haircut tomorrow. I assume I will have the same good results, but will be particularly watching the area where I usually have to fight (or spend extra time on) the cowlick.

I had never used NC's soft flocker...

Up until a few years ago I used to just buy a styler and hair spray at CVS.

Since then I have been using the Calista Embellish Definer product by Calista and find it works great. As for hair spray afterwards, I'll use one of a few brands I can get inexpensively at CVS.

When I am in need of getting more of the Embellish Definer, I'll probably try:

I got my haircut yesterday.

I used the Enjoy Dry Wax this morning, and it is very close to what Nick Chavez’s product Soft Flocker was like. All I did was take a pea-size amount in my hands and rubbed them together, running my hands/fingers all over my area, even the areas that don’t need it.

In less than one minute, I was able to ensure that the cowlick area did not show. You can use a hair pick to get that result, but I used a small/narrow round brush to lift up and lightly place the hair the way I wanted it. I did NOT brush thru the hair; the brush only picked up hair to get the style I want.

The Enjoy Dry Wax has a light hold to it once it is on the hair. I did not need to use hairspray. Whichever product brand you get, start off with as little as possible, otherwise it may feel greasy.

My hair feels really soft after applying this, and as far as I am concerned, I don't have to look any further for something that closely resembles Nick's Flocker. YAAAY!

I was able to get his Hair serum on Amazon, but the Hair spray was 59.00 .

WOW. I wasn't that expensive when I got it on the Q. I passed on that.
