I agree. And they ALL say the same thing! Aging is just that...aging. I just turned 72 and I am a 10 year breast cancer survivor.. So do some sagging skin and wrinkles bother me? ****** no. I am just glad to be here alive and healthy!!

The only one that I know of is Rx Retin-A (tretinoin). It has the FDA approval as an anti-aging facial product and it happens to be the only one. All others just improve 'the appearance of' and they don't address the cause like tretinoin does.

@goldensrbest I'm sure @SilleeMee could give a better answer, but in my readings, creams will not enter the pores and improve collagen. Derms recommend microneedling, lasers, etc. which "damage" the skin causing it to produce collagen to heal under the surface.

Retin A is the gold standard.

Topical collagen does noting, take a supplement or use a powder and let it work from the inside.

Our natural collagen in the skin is like a layer of semi-firm mesh fibers made up of protein. As you age that system of mesh fibers starts to break down and there isn't an OTC topical cream that can do anything about it.

Some peptides are supposed to help to restart that loss of collagen such as Matrixyl.

Don't think a cream will increase our collagen. Just an aging thing. But keeping skin hydrated will help with the appearance. So a cream will help with this.

Check water intake, eat well, get your blood flowing with exercise and use sun protection. We have earned our wrinkles.

Considering the above advice and comments, I'd say the only remedy is eat well, drink water, be comforable in your own skin, give thanks, bless others, enjoy life and live each day to the fullest.

All in all, I guess that's the only real help for your face--and a smile when you can!

That was kooper,and cambridge,both died,had to remove the picture of clancy,just to painful for me to see,although he is constanly on my mind,and heart.

Generally I'd say no because collagen molecules are too large to penetrate. But if someone smarter than me (@SilleeMee) would give an opinion on the BEAUTY SPY DR. TREE LOOSE SKIN SUPER COLLAGEN CREAM, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. When this was aired, they made a point of saying the company/manufacturer reduced the size of the collagen molecules and included a special peptide to drive it into the skin.

I so did not want to give him up,really having a very difficult time,missing him so very much, kooper almost made it to 15,cambridge died in2023, goldens are my heart dogs.

Even if a topical collagen has the ability to penetrate the skin, it will not be incorporated into our natural collagen structure which is made by our fibroblast cells inside the skin. Topical collagen, no matter what the size, attracts moisture and holds it so hydration levels are improved and the skin appears smoother, plumper. Nothing more.

Ingesting collagen is not effective. Stomach acids destroy collagen and its not absorbed.

I feel a lot more relaxed about my looks, my obvious aging, since I stopped searching for a youth potion. I cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize. The products I use are not expensive.
