I am recently becoming interested in the TATCHA line. Would anyone using this line please give me your opinion of the products, and which products you find to be the most effective? And if you've used it before and didn't like it, that would be great to know, too.

Just hoping that you all have some good information to share. Thanks in advance for any responses.

@12andcounting - I use the Rice Polish every morning. I love it! It "wakes" face up. I use Regular. My skin is somewhat sensitive, but I use enough water to make it comfortable for my face. Even putting it on my skin relaxes me!

I've been using rice powder since I taught in Japan. When I returned home it was hard to find. For a while Fresh made one, but it was discontinued. I didn't like Bobbi Brown's version.

I use a few other Tatcha products too. The cleansing oil is nice, but I find others a little less expensive. I have used the Silk Canvas as primer, but there are others less expensive that work well for me.

Overall, it's a good line. But I don't believe the ancient book gimmick. The one real geisha I met used Estée Lauder!

I use all the cleaners depending on season and what my skin needs. Best cleansers I ever used. I also like their sunscreen for the winter months. I do not care for any of their moisturizers. Sometimes I use their essence although I am not sure it does anything. If you are interested in trying any of their products you can purchase some in a mini size to try. Their website and Sephora carry some in the minis.

The Tatcha lip masks contain artificial dyes in it, for me that makes it a no no, I buy ones from Pacifica that are vegan and no dyes.

I was going to buy the serum stick a while back but when I compared a very similar product by Dr Denese, the Denese won out, lots of quailty wrinkle figtning skin care ingredients in there that the Tatcha one does not have. So, I find it is over priced hype.

I like the Indigo and the Gentle best.

Although the instructions don't say so, I do use a mild cleanser afterwards, mainly to make sure I have removed all the dirt/debris, etc. from my skin that the polish has brought up. If I recall correctly, this is the way the Lancer doctor said to use exfoliants and cleansers........exfoliate first and then use cleaners to get any fine particles removed.

Converted to Tatcha a year ago. Feel like I've finally found a line that works well for my routine & my skin. For context, I have exceedingly sensitive skin that can be combo and/or angry. Later in life breakouts are not unusual for me, but refining my Tatcha routine over the past year has seriously mitigated those -- especially the rice polish.

Cleansing Balm -- prefer it over the cleansing oil. The balm just has a better consistency to me

Rice Polish (calming) -- game changer for my skin. The #1 product that got me to keep diving in to try other products. Will never be without rice polish. I do agree with their two-step process. I use cleansing balm first, followed by rice polish in the evening only.

Rice wash -- for those quick, post-workout cleanses

Brightening eye cream -- recent addition in the morning only. Feels like I'm just starting to see a difference.

Brightening serum -- TBD, just started trying it out

Silk serum (retinol alternative) -- on the fence about this one. It might not be for me. There are other serums out there that I prefer

Silk sunscreen (mineral SPF 50) -- top sunscreen product in my arsenal. I am very fair-skinned, and this doesn't seem to clog my pores like others. Easy to apply, very light.

Ageless renewal cream -- my preferred moisturizer in their line, especially at night. Thick but really soaks in. Give it some time to absorb

Ageless eye cream -- NIghttime ritual for me. Definitely have seen some reduction in wrinkles. Others have commented as well since I started using it.

Ageless neck cream -- very light. Is it helping? Maybe. Not a product I'd feel like I *have* to have, if the budget can't stretch that far.

Essence -- Just OK. Finishing up my mini and not continuing

Serum Stick -- good for on the go

Silk Canvas -- wasn't for me. Didn't see any difference when I used it

Setting powder -- Meh, didn't live up to the hype

Clarifying clay mask -- works well for pore reduction. I only use it at most once a week

Tip: visit the Tatcha website and sign-up for their email list. They do have sales. I find the minis to be the best way to try out their line before investing in full-size -- especially at their prices, which are indeed pretty high.Try the minis and shop the sales. They also usually offer 3 free samples when you purchase there, which is a great way to try out products without the $$-$$$ price. Once you've found your products, then keep an eye on the Q's Tatcha offerings. They do sometimes have better prices on things like duos or sets.

@World Traveler wrote:

@beach-momI have used the rice polish from Tatcha for many years. It does make the skin feel really good and they usually have sales a couple times a year on QVC for this product.

I consider it an exfoliant and I have tried all four of the polishes: Indigo, Classic, Gentle, and Deep.

Interesting @World Traveler. I always use it, as I said above, to start my morning. I don't wear much to bed, only a little Josie Maran Milk on some parts of my face, and my makeup is off, so I'm happy with that.

I asked my dermatologist because I knew my skin could be sensitive. As I said, I water it down until it's very creamy. I never feel any granules on my face. The one I used in Japan was just called "rice powder." Luckily one of my Japanese friends told me how to use it.

I tried the eye cream, and it did nothing for me and im not wrinkled either, just fine lines...did not plump that area and I didn't like the waxy consistency.

I have the rice polish in the white jar...I do like that for exfoliating flakes from my retin A.

Over priced line IMO.
