Seems foolish to pay a lot of money for a successful product line and then fiddle with it. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Tweak'd Products

Recently HSN had some specials on this brand and I purchased three of them, two of which I had never tried. I am curious to know if anyone else have tried these products and what your personal experience has been, if you have tried them.

Tweak'd Coco-Nutty Rescue Cream and Tweak'd by Nature Alpine Bloom (The XtraOrdinary Elev8'd Cream).

I just received the Nature Alpine Bloom and was pleasantly surprised. When you open the tub, the product is very light and fluffy. Reminds me of Cool Whip (cream). My hands were exceptionally dry today because of working out in the yard in the sun. I thought this would be a good time to try out this product. WOW!! My hands feel especially soft.

Have to admit than when I first applied it, it felt sort of greasy. But as I worked it in, it was not greasy at all. In fact, one of the ways to test a cream is to see if you can snap your fingers after it has fully absorbed, instead of your fingers being too slippery to snap. I could snap my fingers with no problem!

I haven't opened the Coco-Nutty Rescue Cream, as the tubs are large (15.75 ounces), so I don't want to have both of them open at the same time.

I find this product to be awesome for the whole body, and according to the chart below, it serves several needs.......can use it as an eye cream, morning and evening cream, makeup primer, and body cream.

The third product I got was the Tweak'd by Nature 10.58 ounce Tribal Chocolate Cleansing Hair Treatment. I am pretty sure I have tried this item before, but many years ago. The word chocolate got me to purchase it.

This is an unusual way (for me) to cleanse hair. You first apply some of it to your dry hair and work it in for a couple of minutes. Then you rinse it out. The third step is to apply more (1 teaspoon for my short hair), work it in, mixing with water, and wash your for around three minutes. Then rinse out.

This product left my hair feeling really nice and clean, and very soft. It also left my hair shiny. It mentioned you can use your regular styling products after washing your hair, but I didn't. I wanted to know how it felt without anything added. Loved it! Would just have to get used to applying it to dry/dirty hair first, then pop in the shower to use as a regular shampoo.

Anyway, I was just curious if anyone else uses these products regularly.

I have the Rescue Cream in Tribal Chocolate and there's nothing I like about it. Don't care for the consistency and don't like the scent at all and it's a bit strong. The Tribal Chocolate scent is supposed to be a replacement for Tawaka which I loved, but I don't think it is anything like it.

The cleansing product is the original Tweak'd product. Tried it. Hated it. I just don't like putting it into dry hair.

I'm not anti-Tweak'd. I have and use several of his products. The Elev8'd cream sounds interesting.

Hello, I use and absolutely LOVE Tweak'd products. My hair is naturally wavy and course, so I tend to stick to the more moisturizing formuls. Right now I'm using honeylux. The smell is amazing and my hair is moisturized and shinny. I have coco nutty waiting for when this is done. My absolute favorite is the tribal chocolate. Oh my gosh the scent!! As far as rescue cream, I only use for body moisturizer. I don't wear make up to try as a primer or even put moisturizer on my face. All the scents are wonderful, not a bad one in the bunch. I'm glad you like the products recently purchased! Definitely a line worth trying for anyone who is on the fence.

@stb13 Sounds like you and I have similar tastes.

Yes, the scent of the Tribal Chocolate is delicious. I'm a huge chocolate lover, so it is not surprising that I like it as a hair treatment/shampoo. Just have to get used to the different way of using it by putting it on dry hair first.

I doubt I would use the Rescue Cream as a primer either and these days I'm not much of a makeup wearer; however, I will try it as a night cream and see what happens.

I think the reason I have not been interested in this line of products before is that I am not a fan of watching Denis and his presentations. He continually talks about his mother's problems in the past and how he created these products for her at a critical time in her life, and he always seems so emotional. I would think after all these years he would not break down and cry. I may be cynical here, but it seems to me he is using his tears and emotional tone to make more sales. I could be wrong and if so, I apologize for coming to that conclusion. He very well may be a wonderful son.

I am also enjoying the Aveda Cherry Almond I got during their TSV. That too leaves my hair feeling wonderful!

I really like the Tweak'd products I use, they do a nice job on my hair. I alternate between the cleansing treatment, the hair scrub and the "regular shampoo and condtionner" Denis has. I also use the rescue cream and like it. The Pure and Vanilla Amber have a lighter consistency that i like. Some of the rescue creams are thicker like honey lux and agua de coco, but I just heed to emulsify it in my hand to get them creamier/ serum like. Enjoy your products. Oh, I also have the Churi styler cream and Denis's hairsprays. I think his products keep my color treated hair better looking.

A couple you mentioned I would like to try. Vanilla Amber sounds great as I love vanilla in anything, especially candles. And I would be interested in the Honey Lux and possibly the Agua de Coco.

The pricing when I purchased my items was very, very good, especially the Rescue Creams. The prices are higher now, but still very reasonable for the amount you get.

Just a little bit ago I tried the Rescue Cream on my eye area and my full face. WOW! That really does leave a nice velvety feel to my skin. I went a little lighter with the amount tonight and it goes a long way. Really like the light fluffy texture coming out of the jar! For some reason, when I open the jar it reminded me of Josie Maran and how she would stick her finger in her whipped body butter to show how light and fluffy it was. LOL!

World Traveler, I have been using Denis' products for about 20 years...first as the brand Ojon with his wife Sylvana on-air at QVC, now Tweak'd at HSN. I have long, naturally curly, thick hair that loves to frizz. (I tried Wen, as well, but it took so much product to treat my hair that it was hard to rinse out and left me greasy.) I use the cleansing conditioner, but usually skip the pre-treatment and just use it in the shower. FYI, I recently suffered significant hair loss due to Covid and major stress...I have been babying my hair and continue with Tweak'd, also added Guerlain hair mask. Hair is so much better (and I REALLY lost a lot, about 1/3).

When I first became introduced to Tweak'd, the cleanser was like foam shaving cream in a big can. I tried it but didn't stick with it. Since then, I tried it again and became a true convert. Tweak'd shampoo, conditioner, and cleansing treatment have worked better for me than WEN ever did. The scalp scrub was/is drying, so I'm glad Denis developed the creamier cleansing treatment. The styling products that I use work well for me. I like the all purpose creams for my body but don't really consider them for the face except on very rare occasion. I can't say I've ever had a scent that I disliked.

@World Traveler I keep missing the rescue cream in tribal chocolate. You don't see it very often. I believe it was QVC that had the tub as a big deal last year. Of course I was fully stocked, so didn't purchase and haven't seen it since. I do have 2 small tubes that came in a set around the holidays that I very sparingly use cause im afraid to run out . The scrub is also a wonderful product to try sometime. It's equivalent to using a loofah on your skin versus just a plain washcloth. You just get that extra level of clean feeling on your scalp and hair. I also like the churi styler better than the hydrating balm, it just works better for my unruly course hair. Although I definitely like some things better than others, I've honestly never tried a product I flat out haven't liked from this line. I'd love to hear your opinion if/when you try more of the Tweak'd line. Enjoy your Saturday!

If not, do you know why they changed the ingredient list?

I'm interested in what you said about skipping the pre-treatment. Since my hair doesn't get dirty because of washing it every day, and I don't use a lot of products after washing, no even hairspray, I guess there is no reason to do the pre-treatment. When trying something new I like to follow the directions as stated to make sure I get the full experience, but think I will skip that whenever I use that product and see what happens.

Sorry about your significant hair loss due to Covid and major stress. Losing 1/3 of your hair has got to be traumatizing. Glad to read that your hair is doing better using Tweak'd.

I was just asking another poster if it was a different formula. That probably is why the name is now Tweak'd. Would make sense.

Seems like there were a lot of people who liked Ojon, as I recall there were so many comments about it over the years anytime he presents.

That is unusual. I usually don't care for anything with heavy floral scents in it.

I use Tweak'd products exclusively for my hair. I use the cleansing treatments and the shampoos and conditioners in rotation.

I do not like the chocolate anything in his line. I am not a fan of body products smelling like food. I just don't get it. His products do leave their smell in your hair which I like, but not chocolate.

As far as the rescue cream, I did not like it at all. It had a waxy consistency and I couldn't use it up fast enough so I could be done with it. I would never repurchase it.

I just received the shampoo/conditioner from his last TSV on HSN. It is a new scent for me, Lemongrass. I opened it to smell and it is heavenly. I am going to use it tonight.

I also use the scalp scrub once a week. It really helps to whiten my hair. I have his revitalizing spray and the balm. I am a Tweak'd fan, just not of the chocolate.

I am glad you like your purchases. It is fun when that happens.

@stb13 The Tribal Chocolate was a large tube this time, 10-1/2 ounces. I don't know if he usually does that size, but the pricing was right that day (think everything was on sale) and there was free shipping on all his products. I believe it is the only time I have seen it presented, but I am quite sure I tried it many years ago.

Understand about being afraid of running out! I'm that way with products I like and always try to make sure I have a backup.

You mentioned liking the scrub. I haven't used a scalp scrub, so I am eager to try that in the future. I used to use Josie Maran's body scrub, which made my body feel so, so good. However, it did leave the bathtub with a ring around it, which I hated. Right now I am using the Aveda Cherry Almond scrub for the body. The scent is so wonderful to me. But the idea of a scalp scrub is very enticing to me.

@tends2dogs Well, I can certainly understand that not everyone is a chocoholic like me, but do you enjoy eating chocolate? I love Andrew Lessman's ChocoNuvo and eat some of those little squares every day. Of course, he made it for helping with cholesterol, but it is a great treat even without the health benefits.

I need to check out the cleansing treatments, because you are at least the second person who has mentioned it. This is a separate cleansing product (for the body?) from the hair cleansing products? Perhaps it is just the term that is being used that is making me unsure about the use.

Sorry you didn't like the Rescue Cream. I did use a little less last night before going to bed. The first time I used it I slathered it all over, thinking the amount was correct. But a little goes a long way with that product. Guess it depends upon the brands whether you need a lot or a little. This morning my face and eye area still felt velvety after applying it last night.

The Lemongrass is something I wouldn't mind trying. I have had health drinks made with this ingredient, but they have always been very faint in scent and very mild in taste. Is his Lemongrass light in scent?

I have gray/white hair, so the fact his scalp scrub helps to whiten your hair would have no effect on me. LOL!

I used to be a BIG fan of their hair products...until my hairdresser told me that their volumizer products take the oil from my hair. Never liked that stuff that you put on dry hair, I could never get a little dab to go all over my head. I have three different shampoos/conditioners in my closet and use them periodically for about a week, then return to my normal products. I do love the Rescue Cream and don't want to be without it. I use it on my face and body with no bad results on the face. I really don't like to watch Denis, he's not watchable to me, but I miss out on what the products do. He made mention on the last day he was on HSN for the TSV that he didn't know what the tariffs would do with his products so, I'll make sure to stock up on the things I do like from this line.

@Carolina925 Too bad about the volumizer products. If your hairdresser told you that "their volumizer products take the oil" from your hair, I am assuming they are referring to the Tweak'd line. If so, do you use any other line of volumizing product instead?

About your experience with the product put on dry hair and using a "little dab," my hair is very short, sort of a modified pixie. The directions for me to use it on dry hair is 1/4 teaspoon and to emulsify it. I didn't have any problem with the amount and it easily covered all my hair. But as stated in another post I just wrote, I don't see the need to use it before washing my hair every day when I shower. Was just following the directions the first time.

I agree about watching Denis and his presentations, but I too didn't want to miss something important he might say about an item I may be interested in.

His comment about tariffs tells me that he sources his ingredients from all over the world, which makes sense. The Tribal Chocolate has cacao from Peru, according to the label. And I believe I have heard him mention in past presentations that other products' ingredients are from somewhere in Asia.
