LWYA foundation

I just received my order yesterday and tried the foundation this morning. I ordered shade medium and it is very orange on me. I usually purchase neutral undertones, but Kim said these are all neutral. If it is this warm on me, I can’t imagine anyone with cool undertones could wear this shade. I might exchange for a light medium if they even have any and see if that’s any better. Disappointed.

When I heard Kim say that all skin tones are neutral I said to myself yeah right.

When I saw the foundation presented with Jane and Kim, I immediately thought the shades looked awful on both ladies - way too orange and too dark.

I fell for that "everyone can/should.... when I first found QVC. That belief faded fast for me whether it came from someone touting make-up or any of the clothing designers.

@Natureluvr The reason makeup lines have foundations in Coll, Warm or Neutral is because one size does NOT fit all. She's just trying to sell the stuff.

Every one has different skin tones.

I got the medium and it is not the least bit orange on me at all.

@Natureluvr There are quite a few comments that referred to this line leaning on the orangy side. I returned the so called "miracle concealer" for the same reason. The items I've tried in this are like drugstore makeup. The quality is not there.

I also ordered the medium and a cool tone but found that I can wear this. Was so afraid to order but decided to go for it. I have another foundation that could use a little oomph to it so I will mix with this but actually this foundatio does work alone for me.

What didn't you like about it, @luvsshopping ? I've received it but haven't given it a try yet. Does it not wear well or not play well with skincare?

@wasn't Bobbi Brown all yellow based back in the day, @Shanus ? I remember that was the one foundation, no matter who tried to match me, that was always way too yellow.

@Wsmom The shade I wore Porcelain was a neutral and there were some cool tones, too. The warmer tones in most lines lean yellow.

@Shanus , I understand that. I meant that I thought most of them leaned yellow and she kind of stood on that to neutralize the pink in complexions. I may be remembering wrong. This is going back a long, long time ago. I am warm toned and even on me everything was very yellow.

@Wsmom You may be right that some of her foundation shades had a yellow cast, but I never found it too difficult to match someone. You may want to look into different brands of makeup.

I know that most have more warm shades than cool or neutral so when I changed from BB, I had a long search. I now wear the Dior Foundation Stick when I'm not wearing tinted moisturizer.

I posted a few days ago about this unde the Today's Special Value forum thread.

I caved and ordered it in Light Medium even though I'm 99.9% just Medium in other lines. It looked way too orange-y on everyone on-air. For me, the Light Medium worked quite well. I tested it and posted on how it looked and how it applied, but then I sat around for a while waiting to see if it settled or changed color. I really thought this was going to be a keeper. I hoped it would be. Thennn, after about an hour, I looked in the mirror and couldn't wait to wash it off. It got wrapped up and sent back the next day.

I did not care for the brush it came with, and I never opened the box with the sponge. I kinda sorta liked the lip product, not that I needed anything like that.

For me, it was a miss.

Foundations are usually very tricky and some companies have a hard time doing them. The new lawless foundation shades look terrible. Usually I can go right to the light neutral and it will be perfect. The light neutral in lawless is so dark on the model. Kim should probably stick with just color cosmetics and not do foundation. Foundations take a science to get the undertones right and offering a limited amount of shades does not work.

Thanks, @Shanus . I had stopped even attempting with BB years ago. Just this convo on this makeup being a one size fits all kind of thing made me think of BB and I was thinking she was another who didn't do the different skin tones.

I tried her cosmetics twice. One was the eye crayons. I loved the colors but they did not last on my lids. Midday gone. I found the lip gloss products also did not last. I am willing to pay more for a pigmented item that will hold up. I thought as many, the foundations looked dark. I am a neutral and wear Medium or Light Medium. I had nothing work with her line.

Today is Sunday and I watch a part of Kim Gravel with Pat

If she , Kim was wearing her own brand she really looked orange.

I don't think it favors her at all
