Beef Tallow the new "rage" in beauty?

I'm seeing tallow in face creams and bars of soap. Is this now the latest & greatest in skincare? Can't imagine the smell or how greasy it is.

It's for sale all over the place. The barn store we shop at has a couple of vendors that sell it.

I bought a small pot to try. While it made my hands soft I can't deal with the fragrance. It has lemongrass in it which causes my eyes to burn & run. I did like their bar soap.

I have read a little about using beef tallow. It says you want products made with the leaf fat from grass fed pasture raised beef. It shouldn't be beefy stinky.

I found one place called Sun & Moo which uses the leaf fat. I have not looked farther to see where else it's sold etc. I would use some of this but don't want beef tallow on it's own that stinks.

People are eating beef tallow too.

They act like saturated fats won't clog arteries. They need to start listening to cardiologist instead of chiropractors!

Don't knock it until you've tried it. I got some for me and 2 other family members at Christmas and we all love it ! In fact, I have quit using all of my expensive face products and just use the beef tallow. Sure it goes on kind of greasy - but in a few minutes, it sinks in. I've reordered also...don't want to be without.

Have you noticed how many new things pop up in skin care? How many miracle products work any different? I think the rage is $$$$$$$, not results.

Tallow has to be cheap cheap cheap to put in cosmetics.

Yup, I've heard about it. It's the thing on Instagram. Every year there's a new, so-called amazing skin product. Last year it was snail mucin.....which did absolutely nothing for me, except drain my wallet. I threw it away. I'll stick with my med spa skincare

I have oily skin...and would NEVER use anything like that...

HOWEVER, many years ago, CRISCO® was a favorite of my girlfriends.

Previous rages, in addition to the forementioned snail excretion, are mayo, eggs and avocado. Apparently some people will believe anything, which explains quite a bit, actually.

@Love my grandkids. To me, the idea is just as repulsive as using goat milk in soap. Milk has sugar in it and is sticky.....if they really use goat milk.

The next thing should be using miracle water from Lourdes in facial moisturizers. They could tie it in with the movie "The Substance". Use the moisturizer and you too can look thirty years younger. It performs miracles.

Grew up with reserved bacon fat as my dad was from NC. Loved it in green beans
